I landed in Mumbai a month ago to pursue my MBA from NMIMS. It was not my first time here, but this city looked new; so much prettier with so much more to offer. One of the sites that caught my attention was the majestic Bandra Worli Sea Link. Was pleasantly surprised to know that the same Ultratech cement went into the construction of the sea link as the one used for building up my own home back in Kolkata. It gave me a certain sense of assurance and satisfaction that the same bond that helped bridge a seemingly impossible distance is holding my home strong.
Shopping is an integral part of an average girl’s routine and so it is mine. One retail stop that has always been my favourite is Pantaloons. The best part - economical and classy goes hand in hand here. It was a one-stop solution for all my needs of new casual wears to business formals, much needed for my new MBA journey. Yet again finding out that Pantaloons is from the family of Aditya Birla Fashion Limited was astounding. And there was much more to it: Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Peter England; never knew that I had been associated so intricately with ABG since a long while.
Keeping in touch with people has never been so easy ever since mobile phones landed in our hands. With Vodafone and Idea coming up together, connectivity has got a new definition. High-speed internet at nominal prices does make the big geographical distance between me and my family disappear.
Good words about how Hindalco Novelis is working on recycling 65 billion cans per years is not new to the news and neither is Birla Tyres making journeys stronger, safer and joyous. All these instances are just the tip. So, when I was posed with the question “Why Aditya Birla Group is Big in my Life?”, the answer was very simple - They touched millions of lives worldwide including mine, subtly adding value, purpose, style, safety, assurance and health to it. It is big in my life because it made it better and richer filled with love and laughter.
