Life is full of challenges, but the show must go on at any cost. Every now and then we are encountered with different kind of challenges. And I believe a man who is persistent and passionate will always sail through the challenges we face in our lives. Since birth we have been facing new challenges one after the other; whether it is getting good marks, good education or a good job. The challenges are countless.
It was in the year 2015 that I graduated from M.S Ramaiah Institute of Technology and started working for Accenture in Bengaluru. While working for Accenture, I realized my inclination towards MBA. In October 2017, I started preparing for entrance exams. I used to work for 11-12 hours and prepare for MBA entrance exams in whatever spare time I got. I shortened my lunch breaks, skipped tea breaks and avoided team chit chats. I even sacrificed weekends, sleep and birthday parties of friends but when the result of IIFT was declared, I missed the cutoff in one of the sections by 0.25 marks. It broke my heart and I felt that the outcome was far from satisfactory considering the efforts put by me. A ‘Do or Die’ situation was hanging in front of me as I had other options for admission to MBA back then in 2018, but I decided to give a final shot to IIFT exam in December, 2018.
I prepared again with more effort and cleared the exam and now am here at IIFT! It is better to wait and proceed with self-belief, everything will work fine after that.
Why Aditya Birla Group is big in my life?
“Quality is the best business plan” – John Lasseter of Pixar.
Aditya Birla Group which started as a jute industry in 1919, is now one of the biggest Indian conglomerates that represent India on the Global level. When I as an average Indian reflect upon my daily life, it surprises me on the extent of penetration Aditya Birla Group has on my lifestyle, and how indispensable is its value to me as a customer both directly and indirectly, to its shareholders, its employees and the society at large. Some of the brands are Peter England, Planet Fashion, Ralph Lauren, Ultratech cement, Van Heusen.
Having such a wide range of products and services, Aditya Birla Group is very significant in my life. I come from a small town present in the outskirts of Patna, Bihar. My father runs a small shop of Motor Parts. We had a dream of having our own house as we used to live in a rented house. It was 2015, I graduated and started earning. It was then that the dream of my parents started taking shape. I took a house loan and started the process. When the discussion about the cement came to our table, everyone in my family said that quality is of utmost importance. And when we talked about quality, everyone said “Ultratech Cement” in unison. Yes! Ultratech cement is what we relied upon.
Five years ago, Pantaloons opened its retail outlet in my hometown. I have become a regular customer of that outlet. The quality collections which are available make me a regular customer. Even in Bangalore (the place where I worked), despite there being many retail outlets in the city, I always relied upon Peter England for the formal wear and the blazers, Van Heusen for casual wear, Louis Philippe for special occasion wear. The day I landed in Delhi to pursue MBA from IIFT, I went to Peter England showroom for the formals, such is the trust I have developed in these brands!
I have been using Vodafone for past three years now and the quality of network and service provided is amazing. That means that Aditya Birla Group being the part of a competitive market has its impact on nearly every item that I individually deal with in my regular life.
