“A journey like no other” nothing can describe experiencing Aditya Birla group better. ABG has ventured into all the major sectors, be it infrastructure, textile, telecom, fashion, financial services. It is third-largest private conglomerate in India. With its reach and innovation, ABG has provided solutions to the different sectors of society from fulfilling the copper requirements of Indian Railways through Birla Copper Limited to catering the aspirations of a common man by providing Hindalco sheets for roofing purposes and aluminum for smartphones. UltraTech’s contribution to Bandra-Worli sea link was a feat for ABG. There is no denying the fact that all of us have experienced ABG in one way or the other.

ABG’s contribution to telecom has affected me the most. My family has been using Idea for a very long time. It was our first cell subscription. My father’s job required a lot of fieldwork and Idea insured we stay connected with each other, even in the remotest of the regions. Idea’s cell reception and connectivity unparalleled even at the time when the Indian telecom sector was still struggling. ABG not only delivers the product but also provides the service to its customers. Fashion is a domain where not all can thrive, with brands like People, Pantaloons, Allen Solly, Louis Philippe, Aditya Birla Fashion and retail has catered to needs of various kind of buyers.

Little girls with big dreams become powerful women with vision. Despite the advances in various fields of life, the evil of inequality persists. We have different degrees of orthodox in our society. Ones who believe that girls are not required to study, have a career; these are the typical factory-made conservatives who are the result of cognitive conditioning of several generations,  other ones are the people who claim that they do not differentiate between their sons or daughters, “see we are letting her study, letting her follow her path”. We have come a long way from not letting to letting. But still, the problem is persistent as long as we think that we are not differentiating, that bias will stay in our heads forever. Being a part of this society, where people belonging to the second category are high, I have faced many challenges through my life to convince people that girls’ education and career is equally important. It took a lot of effort to reach to a premier B-school and writing this article, it is a privilege; and I am privileged, but it did not come easy. ABG has paved the way for women to come forward and continually works in the direction of shaping dreams one at a time. It has seen prolific results in the course of its journey, which is indeed commendable.
