This pretty much summarizes Aditya Birla group according to me. ABG is an Indian Multinational conglomerate with over 120,000 employees helping millions of Indians every day. ABG has treated over a million patients, opened 56 schools providing quality education to 46,500 children and enabled women by providing them training to become entrepreneurs. Their values and attitude towards helping and giving back to the community are what resonated with me. I believe that every individual is unique and talented. If given the right opportunities, resources, and training, they can make a considerable contribution to the social and economic growth of the nation. ABG has done that and more. They have been a source of inspiration and made me realize that even a small contribution can make a huge difference in someone's life. ABG had given me hope and confidence when I needed it the most. This very hope has helped me reach where I am today, a step closer to my dream.
Looking back at my life, I had this epiphany that unknowingly, Aditya Birla Group has always been a part of my life. From the nostalgic school days of parathas and chapattis, wrapped in Freshwrap aluminium foils in lunch boxes, to the sophisticated business formals which have become an integral part of my life now, ABG has been a constant.
As long as I can remember, academics have always been my sole focus, everything other than that was a distraction. Until recently, shopping for me was going to one trusted retailer and buying whatever was in stock at the shop, keeping aside fashion at another corner of the room. Someone once told me that, a sharp look combined with knowledge is the ultimate combination which will take you places. So, after bagging a job at a multinational company, when I stepped into a PANTALOONS store, it was an otherworldly experience. After trying out from the wide range of choices of clothes and accessories, when I looked at myself, a sense of pride filled me, for what I had achieved. I was filled with immense confidence and that advice was starting to make sense. This sense of confidence is what drove me to strive better at work and prove my competence. During this year of juggling between working, handling strict delivery deadlines at the office, and preparing for the CAT at night, I always had to make a choice between a comfortable and secure job and working immensely hard at that moment towards a better future. Thinking back on it now, I realize that it was right for me to choose to work hard then because that is what led me to IIM, Ranchi. After an interesting attempt at CAT, I decided to leave it to fate and started to work on improving myself. So, when I got calls for the interviews, my first emotion was elation, a sense of accomplishment and pride that I was able to make my parents proud. Allen Solly and Van Heusen were the two brands which came at the forefront of my mind and I knew that they will help me put forth my best face forward. Donning a black Van Heusen blazer, filled me with positive energy and confidence, I entered into the interview room, which eventually changed my life and opened the doors to a multitude of opportunities. I believe that holding onto to that hint of hope and believing in yourself, amidst the hardships of life, is what led me towards my dreams. I would like to conclude that in order to achieve something we have to work hard against all odds and believe that we are capable of achieving great success and everything else will fall into place.
