Who would have thought that a journey which started in 1857 by Seth Shiv Narayan Birla would impact the life of millions of people on a daily basis. Catering to fields from telecom to cement, the journey of Aditya Birla Group has been like no other. Talking about the impact of ABG in my life, it is safe to say that it is hard to imagine my life without one or the other products of the group. Whether it be my grand parents building their dream home 60 years back or my father getting the home reconstructed a few years ago, UltraTech Cement has always been our first choice even after so many years. When it came to connecting people across the world, Idea has played a major role in my life as it has been my primary and the only sim since the time I started using mobile phones. It was one network provide me and my family could rely on even in remote areas where there were some network issues. Wearing formal clothes for my MBA interviews or buying clothes for a party, brands like Van Heusen, Peter England and Luois Phillipe have always given me the best possible options. Speaking about safe food packaging, my mother has always entrsuted Freshwrap for packing my food so that I could have her home cooked food without any food safety issues. The group has always played a massive role in our lives. Birla Carbon nanoplastics makes our tyres safe so that we could enjoy our everyday travel. UltraTech Cement was used in the construction of the Mumbai's Bandra - Worli Sealink. The transportation requirement in India could not be fulfilled without talking about the role played by Railways in our lives and ABG group has a part to play in that as well as a large share of the copper requirements of Indian Railways is fulfilled by Birla Copper. We cannot forget the contribution made by Grasim industries as it is the world's 4th largest producers of insulators.
Aditya Birla Group has played a very important role in my life as it has provided me with the best possible products at all times and I will always be greatful to them for the same.
Part B - Overcoming challenges
We live a life which is very fast moving. Changes take place in a very short span of time. In fact, change is the only constant we have in our lives. We always strive to cope up with the challenges we face with the changing times. There have been numerous occasions where I found it hard to overcome the challenges, but with my hard work and perseverance, I was able to get through them at the end. I have done my graduation from Maharaja Agrasen College, Delhi University. I had undertaken a project on Performance Appraisal of non-teaching staff of University of Delhi and all of a sudden, we were asked to prepare a research paper on the the project in a very short span of time. Our exams were nearby and we had to prepare for them as well. The time available was less and we had to prepare the research paper and at the same time, study for our exams. There came a time when i found it very hard to do both the tasks simultaneously, but i kept my calm and with the help of my team members, we were able to prepare the research paper on time and were able to present it in a National conference as well. Everyone praised the efforts we had put in the research paper and we were also able to obtain decent marks in our exams.
The challenges we face in our lives teach us a lot about our potential. It is during tough times only that we get to know about our real potential. It is a test of our character and only a few are able to overcome their challenges and achieve their goals.
Aditya Birla Group had to also face a lot of challenges due to the changes in technology, human behaviour and the increasing competition in their journey from 1857. A duration of 162 years could change a lot. Even Aditya Birla Group has changed a lot over the time, but the change is only a positive one. They have only improved with time and have shown us how to face the various challenges that life throws at us.
