Part 1. You think of any major sector, ABG is there- Life insurance, asset management, private equity, corporate lending, structured finance, project finance, general insurance broking, wealth management, equity, currency and commodity broking. Aditya Birla Group builds so many buildings in India too. Just imagine what would have happened had ABG not existed! ABG has contributed to the development of India in an immense way. Pantaloons too is also a part of ABG.

My one major instance of pride of being India was when I walked into a Pantaloons store and purchased my first set of formal clothing. I was feeling the sense of pride wearing business formals for the first time. My friend had accompanied me to the store. While I was in the queue my friend asked me why are there so few Indian companies good in the fabric industry, I looked at him, and proudly said that "Dude, pantaloons is owned by Aditya Birla Group. He was dumbfounded thinking that how a cement manufacturing company forayed into fashion.

I am not only a loyal customer for its fashion brands at a personal level but also aspire to be a part this seven decade long legacy or at least learn from their mottos and imbibe some of their teachings into myself so as to be as successful as them. ABG is not just a company but a nation’s pride. I want to be a part of a group which has such deep connection with the Indian culture and has a legacy!

Part II.

I grew up in different cities across India, courtesy my father’s job. As a result, I have studied in 3 different schools from 1st to 12th standard. Studying in different schools in Gurugram (NCR), Bhavnagar (Gujarat) and Mumbai has taught me to adjust to different environment and people around me and has made me comfortable with coming out of comfort zone at different points in time.

Whenever I used to get comfortable with an environment, my father got a transfer due to which all of us had to move from one place to the other.

While moving to a new city, I initially was very hesitant about the kind of people I’ll meet, will I be able to make new friends, but now when I think back I feel that it was those situations which made me a person I am today, person who gets along with peers well and one who is excited to meet new people and interact with them.
