Given the prominence of ABG in indian market, the tagline of its subsidiary, Ultratech cement fits in here beautifully. ' Build beautiful' - Even though its a relatively new tagline, I believe this encapsulates the soul of the company. From finance to analytics to retail, ABG has always been leading the way for various other congloromates. There is no denying ABG's role in defining various indian industries, but one aspect of ABG that I am most enamoured with is there CSR activities. From providing helathcare services to educational support for hundreds of thousands of people in need. For those interested to know more, I will add a link at the end of the article. These activities, in my opinion, is what differentiates ABG from other successful congloromates present in India. I have mentioned some of their prominent works below.

  • Over a million patients treated at 5,000 medical camps and our 20 hospitals annually.
  • More than 1,200 children underwent cleft lip surgery.
  • 50 deaf and mute children (0-5 years) underwent the cochlear implant surgery. This was a life changing experience for the children as they can now speak and hear.
  • At their 56 schools across India,  they provide quality education to 46,500 children. Merit Scholarships are given to 32,000 children from the interiors. Over 28,000 children in the hinterland of India are being taught conversational English to build their confidence.
  • They support projects for the differently abled in Baroda and Odisha. In Baroda, they are connected with the M. S. University, which conducts an annual sports event for the differently abled through their association ‘Prayas’. In Odisha, they are linked with ‘Swabhiman’. They conduct a skills and personality development programme for 400 children from the urban poor/slum households, which is completely funded by them.

Challenges faced in personal life

Roadblocks in a person's career is what eventually them. Every struggle, dillema, rough patch or tough decisions that we face in our lives becomes a part of our emotional and intellectual growth. I too have faced such challenges in my life. The biggest testing time in my life was when I did not perform well in my senior secondary examinations. That feeling of hopelessness still haunts me to this day. One big factor in this was my inexperience in the real world. I can say now that although that stage of one's career is important, it is not the only deciding factor for your future. In my case I reevaluated my career options and decided to go for a management course as I realised science didn't held my interest. I have not.looked back since then and hope that I don't have to in the future.
