It was 8 A.M. in the morning when I snoozed my alarm for the nth time and woke myself up to the reality of yet another frenetic day at a B-school. As I swiped left on my screen, I recalled that Hindalco aluminum is used to make cover glasses for phones. Also, my Idea network has almost never disgruntled me. I rushed to class for a presentation wearing my crisp Allen Solly shirt. The revolution that brands like Forever 21, Allen Solly, Pantaloons, People, etc. have brought about in the Indian wardrobe is humongous. With a product line ranging from affordable daily wear to suave formals, they’ve got it all covered.

I saw a few of my Mumbai friends posting breathtaking pictures of the Bandra-Worli Sea link on social media. 0.1 million tonnes of UltraTech Cement was used for its construction. From the earliest memories that I have, Freshwrapp aluminium foil has kept food fresh in our lunchboxes. All this can be attributed to the Aditya Birla conglomerate that Seth Shiv Narayan Birla founded in 1857, which continues to be one of the leading private-sector groups in India with a revenue of approximately US$44.3 billion. It employs over 120,000 people globally.

More supermarket has rejigged the way Indian households shop for grocery. With a massive foothold of over 500 stores spread across locations in India, it is a market leader in retail. Aditya Birla Capital (ABC) is the umbrella brand for all the financial services business of the Group. Asset management, life insurance, equity and commodity broking, etc. are its flagship services. The conglomerate’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) wing has an outreach of about 7.5 million people across 5000 villages and believes strongly in giving back to the society. Their investments globally in CSR exceed Rs. 500 crores.

The Group does not believe in being the second best at anything they do and this has been proven time and again by the outstanding quality of service delivered to their customers. It indeed is the big in your life!

How I overcame the biggest challenge in my life!

Challenges form an integral part of one's life. They mold you as an individual and add tremendous value to your personality. Ever since childhood, I had been a bright student. Being good at studies made me the apple of every teacher's eye. I managed to maintain my top rank in class till tenth standard. There were a few hitches along the way, but I emerged victorious every single time.

I wanted to become a doctor, hence took up science with Biology in eleventh standard. I joined a coaching center in order to prepare for competitive exams. Coping up with studies at both places was a little daunting, but I sailed through. But, as destiny had it planned, I was diagnosed with chicken pox at the beginning of the exam season. I still studied hard and wrote all my entrances with utmost sincerity. However, I could not secure a seat at any medical college. Although, I did manage to get BDS at a few places. I was shattered. But my plan B was engineering. I half-heartedly took admission in a decent engineering college and chose to specialize in the field of Computer Science.

Since I had no interest in the subject whatsoever, my sole aim was to maintain good grades and secure a job. I decided to prepare for Management Entrance Exams while working. The long hours and high work pressure followed by preparation for exams took a toll on my health. More so, because I was staying 2000 kilometers away from home. Ultimately, I managed to secure admission in a decent B-school after countless hours of slogging! Today, as I stand tall as an MBA candidate, I can very proudly attribute my perseverance to the sheer amount of hard work that I put in.
