I practically live in my college! Since IIM Raipur currently operates from a temporary campus in Government Engineering College Campus, we do not have separate hostels and academic buildings. One floor each is allotted for girls’ and boys’ hostels and the rest is academic block.
The most unique thing about my college campus is that it is the only campus in the country which houses both an IIM and an IIT. To add to that, we also have a GEC. So, in all there are 3 elite colleges in the same campus:
It's been just a month since I have come to IIM Raipur but there is this unique experience each and every day in these enthusiastic classrooms. Being an introvert, my first expectation from IIM Raipur is to help me transform myself. And yes I believe the process is going pretty well as of now with the help of the most qualified professors and the most capable seniors.
I am a student of PGP 2018-2020 batch at IIM Raipur. It has been a great experience for the past couple of weeks since I joined IIM Raipur. The process of getting into a B School began with me taking the CAT exam and scoring a good enough percentile to get calls from leading B schools like IIMs. The IIMs were an obvious preference for me and after WAT PI rounds and declaration of results, I made it to IIM Raipur.
Gossip! Yes, this is true for all the classrooms whether it is LKG or a B- School. The first lecture got over and as soon as the teacher left, the students started talking. Oh, wait! In b-schools it is networking.
The uniqueness of my campus is the number of institutes on the campus. Currently, there are three institutes in the campus, they are:
People might generally feel that we are still relaxing – people are still missing their homes and classes have still not been scheduled. Usually, that should have been the case, right? But let me clear all doubts by saying that we are not. We are not leading the life we used to lead even a couple of weeks back. We already have assignments piling up, and so many co-curricular to care about. But trust me when I say this, it is not tiring at all. These late nights and early mornings are not taxing, all because of a simple reason – we seem to know our peers since ages and this place already feels like home.
When it comes to choosing an Institution where you plan to learn and upgrade yourself; a lot of thought and analysis goes into it. For me, it was even more strenuous as I come with three plus years of experience in IT and at this stage, it was choosing between switching jobs and staying in the same field and grow, or start completely fresh in a new domain. After a thorough SWOT analysis, I finally came to a decision to pursue my masters. But the task didn’t end there as I had this plethora of institutions to choose from.
