Flash of the cab’s headlight read over the billboard IIM Shillong & I was there excited to start all over again what I call the “second inning” of my learning journey. Shillong as rightly called “The Abode in Clouds” housed this eminent institution called “Campus in Clouds” offering participants an exclusive secluded layout for focused learning amidst nature.
I still remember the ride from Assam to the hilly outskirts of Meghalaya. Having never visited any of the North Eastern states, this experience was mesmerising. Cleanliness, scenic views, humble people, exotic food, and the fresh air. Coming from a metropolitan city, these nuances seemed like the heaven to me.
My campus of IIM Shillong is located on the hills, is dwelling between the clouds and was crafted as a summer palace for the erstwhile kings from the Mayurbhanj dynasty is the unique world in its own. Its location away and above the mainland makes it the best place to nurture the future Managers of the country by giving them the view of the whole world from the raised arm of the nation. The campus is blessed with the utmost beauty, where the mother nature is decked in her most beautiful apparels.
Choosing a Business school was never a mammoth task for a guy like me, who always wanted to study in an IIM, no matter what. And what better than IIM Shillong fondly called as the campus in the clouds.
IIM Udaipur, an institute in the city of lakes, amidst the mountains, in the valley! This itself sets the institute apart from all other conventional educational institutes in our nation. With the picturesque backdrop of the mountains, IIM Udaipur gives us just the right amount of rigor as well as peace in our lives. One of my favorite places on the campus is “The Curved Road” as we call it. A place I go to, to just enjoy the breeze kiss my face! Away from all the worries of assignments and quizzes, this is my hideout to enjoy the tranquillity and some peace of mind.
Coming out fresh from an undergrad college, everyone desires to get into another beautiful campus for post grad to live that college life and cherish all those beautiful moments again. And so my journey started with preparing for CAT to be a part of one phenomenal business school and also partly to fulfil my above-mentioned desire.
IIM Sirmaur, better known as The Himalayan IIM is functioning from city Paonta Sahib located in the Sirmaur district of Himachal Pradesh. Similar to what everyone expects from Himachal Pradesh, place has beautiful landscapes, mountains and a greenery which seems to end nowhere.
The story of how I entered the hallowed gates of IIM Shillong started long back in 2014. Way before I had any idea of what I wanted to do with my career, I had come to Shillong for a family trip and I had passed by IIM Shillong looking at the beautiful campus from outside and thinking what it would feel like to study somewhere so beautiful. The locals here at Shillong, talk about the campus with reverence and respect and that gave me the feeling that the institute played an important role in the community here. But just how significant and important it was, I was yet to realize. Regardless, IIM Shillong and its beautiful campus had a lasting impression on my mind.
