Chanakya was an ancient Indian teacher, philosopher and economist. He is credited with having written the ancient Indian political treatise called Arthasastra . His management theories are timeless and are still very relevant today. Below are some of his sutras and how they apply to different facets of management in the modern day.

On 30th October 2014, Vinod Gupta School of Management, IIT Kharagpur had the privilege of hosting a guest lecture by Dr. Saugata Banerjee, founder and Managing Director of Mindspecs, an online interview platform in the learning and employment space.

A unique initiative that promotes, mentors and showcases India's youngest and most dynamic entrepreneurs, TATA First Dot is run by the collaborative efforts of TATA group of companies and NEN Trust. Tata first dot workshop is conducted across 20 cities in India and Ranchi is one amongst them. The workshop saw participation of students from different colleges across Jharkhand, West Bengal and Odisha.

As one walks into our recreation room, one might expect the same things one sees almost every single day. A couple of guys playing table tennis, a few others watching television and some simply making their presence felt with incessant comments about the players’ mistakes echoing in the background. However, the inauguration of our sporting extravaganza would not be just another routine evening in IIM Shillong. One could instantly notice that there were more than ten times the usual number of people that would be in the vicinity of the Ping-Pong table, all of them cheering, all of them excited and all of them in eager anticipation of something big. It doesn’t take Sherlock to deduce that finally ‘Rannbhoomi’ has arrived.
