Ignoring Expectations - IMT Ghaziabad

I have always been very driven in life in achieving my goal - i.e. to be happy. I always knew I wanted to be someone who commanded authority and respect as well as was loved by everyone around her. When I was at a crossroads in choosing a career after school I chose fashion as it was the one thing that made me feel that I was actually interested in. The 4 years of gruelling work and fun made me a much more extroverted and open-minded person in life but something was always missing. I always knew that just being in a fashion house coordinating orders was not something that I could envision myself doing 10 years down the line. So, when I was working in one of the top design houses of India and saw that the work was not something that gave me the happiness that I aspired for, inspite all expectations of my family and friends, I left. It was hard taking a decision in which everyone else was disappointed because the company was one of the top design houses of the fountry and everyone was shocked to hear that i would want to leave such a reputable place to study further. But I ignored what others thought and just listened to what my heart said and followed it. Even though it was hard, seeing my friends and colleagues working and living a good life on their own hard earned money, while I was still studying and trying to get into a good college on my parents’ funds, I did not let it pull me down and overcame that sense of worthlessness to get a good percentile and enter into one of the premier B-Schools of the country. Never even once have I regretted he decision to leave something that id not make me happy and never will I do that ever again. I am now in a place when I know I fit perfectly and for the first time after a long time I actually feel like I can be what I always planned to be, happy.
