Highlights of IIM Indore Admission Criteria -
- The new EWS category has been added to the selection criteria. But otherwise, there has been no major change in weightage given to CAT scores from last year.
- CAT score has the least weightage at the shortlisting stage. A candidate with an excellent academic background and an above-average CAT score can also get a call from IIM I.
- The weightage given to the 10th standard score for the WAT/PI eligibility has been decreased from 36% to 34%.
- There is no weight for Graduation marks of a candidate, both in shortlisting for WAT-PI and Final Selection.
- 6 Points have been awarded for academic and gender diversity.
- Almost 80% of the marks in WAT-PI shortlisting criteria and 20% of the marks in Final Selection criteria are 10th+12th marks. Therefore, more than the CAT percentile, a candidate's previous academic performance will be a major deciding factor in getting a shortlist call from IIM Indore.

The Verdict Of IIM Indore Admission Criteria -
IIM Indore lays major importance on 10th and 12th score of an applicant as observed in previous years as well. If IIM Indore is your dream b-school, your 10th and 12th marks need to fit the bill. If you’re 10th and 12th marks are not that great, only an exceptional CAT score will help you get a WAT / PI shortlist.
Freshers can rest easy though, since IIM I does not have an emphasis on work experience. According to the InsideIIM Gender Diversity Report, IIM Indore is one of the most gender-diverse B-schools in the country. Overall diversity also get 6 points. This includes gender and academic diversity, so anyone from any academic background has an equal chance of getting into Planet-I.
Another interesting aspect of IIM Indore’s selection criteria is the emphasis on personal interviews. PI counts for a 40% weightage in the final selection process.
Since 10th and 12th scores of most applicants are generally in the same range, it is that 20% weight to the CAT score that will become crucial to getting a WAT-PI shortlist call from IIM Indore. Further, getting a seat at IIM Indore largely depends on your WAT - PI performance as well!
