I still can remember the sleepless nights and the hard work that I had done to bell the CAT exam. Yes I did bell the CAT but the game wasn’t over. I still had interviews to crack to make it to the dream college. Finally I got a mail of conversion from IIM Shillong and I was on the top of the world. I couldn’t believe that I had made it to one of the top B-Schools of this country.
However, the joy became subtle after I gave a thought about the things that were waiting ahead. I knew it from the beginning that the life is going to be even tougher than the one I had for making it this far. Yes, IIM Shillong did not disappoint me in that matter. As soon as I came to this college, my worst nightmares had become true. Except for one good thing, now I did not get those nightmares anymore because I did not get the sleep to see those nightmares. We all were burdened with so many assignments and deadlines which were mandatory for all of us to meet. So I realized that all my life I was in doze and IIM Shillong woke me up.
We hardly could find any time to sleep forget about making friends. All that we could think of was try to meet the deadlines and get some time to sleep. In this busy life I did not think that I would find time to make friends.
I had heard from IIM’s seniors that you make friends for life here but I did not expect it to happen too soon. I had a group formed for one of the assignments and there I met him. He helped me in the assignment selflessly takin the entire burden on himself. There I realized that in such a busy and competitive place u do find loyal and helpful friends and I am glad I found him. Yes he is no doubt very intelligent but at the same time he is an enormous fun to be around with. Whenever I have a problem in any of the subjects he is there to help and whenever I need to make somebody a part of the mischiefs that we do in this campus again he is that one person I would love to be around. Life no more seems difficult here. Now I have started enjoying the lengthy assignments along with the sleepless nights because I have great company to share my load with.
Hoping to have the next two year probably the best two years of my life.
Which company would you like to join form ABG?
I would like to work in Hindalco Industries from Aditya Birla Group which is an aluminium and copper manufacturing company. It is a company with global outreach which can provide me with a platform to show my expertise. We had a podium session in our B-school with an executive from Hindalco Industries. His experience and charisma impressed me and I believe that this company can provide me with the platform to flourish.
