The clock struck 8:00 am as my phone alarm woke me up for my class on Sustainability and Business. One hour to get ready and I find all the bathrooms occupied and a people standing in front of the doors waiting for their turn. The day had started on a tough note and it was only going to get tougher I believed. Finally, I got my turn to get freshened up for my class and I left to eat my breakfast.

Rolling up the paranthas, I ran towards the Auditorium where today’s class with Tapas Kumar Giri sir was going to be. Fortunately, I reached there on time and the class started. Today was the day that we had prepared a presentation on Sustainability and we were ready for it, but the facilitator had different plans. He asked us to roam the streets of Shillong to understand the local culture and analyze the various sustainability practices being performed.

We started to walk in the streets looking for cues and also trying to dodge the traffic. The cleanliness of the city really surprised most of us who had been living in the various big cities of India. The locals took the responsibility of cleaning the streets on themselves and have been managing it pretty well. We also noticed that most of the houses had solar panels installed to conserve electricity and save the fossils. The government had a very low presence inside the city but still, the city was very well maintained. We completed our journey of analyzing the city but we still had some time so we went on to play few rounds of badminton which summed up the class.

We reached back on time and started preparing our report on the class which was one of the best experience of out college life.
