It has been one year from the day when I first stepped into IIM Shillong, a campus in clouds. It would be injustice towards IIM Shillong if I limit it to “Campus in clouds” tag. No doubt, it is much more than that it is a campus full of hopes, happiness, determination, positivity, surprises and many more. In fact the bucket of tags and association that I can make with my college is overflowing.
There is not a single story or an incidence which can explain my last one year. I have plenty of stories in my secret bag, some sweet & some bitter memories. Don’t worry; I am definitely going to unveil some of my best and memorable events in the college. As our ancestors say that we should begin a new journey with something sweet, let me share some sweet incidents with you.
Our life started with footsteps, in footsteps………oops! Sorry, I completely forgot I had to start with some sweet memories. Just after the footsteps, we went for a legacy trek; it was an experience that cannot be defined in few sentences. It was the first time, when I talked to so many peoples and made some really good friends. With the drizzling rain, hot tea at nearby shop (which I can bet was the best tea I had in Shillong), and advancing step towards my journey I came to know about more and more people. Finally reaching at our destination we took several selfies, group photos. After that there have been so many instances that enriched me with the rich culture of IIM Shillong. One thing I cherish most about my college is that we consider each other as our family. We have another home away from home; the festive seasons in Shillong are memories to talk about the most. As most of the batch doesn’t go to their homes during festivals, we celebrate every festival from Dahi Handi to Diwali with full zeal and energy.
Apart from festivals there are so many memories we share during our lectures. Thenever-endingg cases, assignments, projects, quizzes, late night preparation for exams, doubt sessions taken by some of our colleagues is in itself a smooth ship loaded with sweet and sour memories that took us through the river of half MBA. And I am waiting for more thrills and surprises and no doubt good news in the upcoming year.
