Aditya Birla Group is active in 14 industry sectors and has also achieved national leadership in several businesses. It is least likely for any Indian to not have come across or used products that are from this group. Since the time when we started to go to school, we have been using something very basic i.e. Freshwrap, freshpakk and superwrap to pack our food in the tiffin boxes. Some of the ABG brands that I have used in my life are Pantaloons, Allen Solly, Van Huesen, Forever 21, Liva, People, etc.
The most unique factor that I saw in Aditya Birla Group is that they created an illusion of choices in front of the customers, however, it is quite possible that the brands that we are choosing from, all belong to the same company. For eg. The case of aluminium foil, we always brought the one that which was the most price competitive never realising that all the brands belong to the same company. ABG group also has Pantaloons under its umbrella, which is an all-time go to store for many people in India due to its quality clothes and attractive offers. In Pantaloons, we have certain brands like Allen Solly, Louis Philippe, Peter England and Van Heusen. The branding of these brands is done as such the customer who is buying at the first go will ever come to know that they are buying an Indian brand. Indian's have this mentality of anything that comes from outside India is of superior quality. By giving options to choose from the customer returns home very satisfied that he /she has got the product which is the best and value for money and the company has also ensured that the money and the customer fall under the same pocket. In fact, the standalone stores of these brands are always next to each other. Something that also shocks me that the brand which Priyanka Chopra very well carried to the Met Gala in 2018, Ralph Lauren also comes under the umbrella of ABG. The group will continue to impact our lives as it has always been.
