Being a campus recruiter has helped me further appreciate and identify each individual’s unique and diverse strengths and motivations, especially at this particular life stage.
Q. Tell us an innovation you have introduced in the campus recruitment space that you are very proud of.
We introduced KNACK, a behavioural neuroscience-based game application to assess workplace effectiveness, and thus future leadership potential.
Q. What do you look for in a student when you hire from campus?
When we hire from campus, I look for a bunch of things in a student. Namely their all-roundedness in character, world-view perspectives, high professional will and personal humility, sense of conviction, and passion to make a difference.
Q. What is your favorite question to ask a candidate during an interview?
The one question I always ask is “What about the world worries you? If you had a chance to set it right, how would you go about it?”
Q. Tell us a memorable/funny/inspiring anecdote from your campus recruiting experience.
I think the most inspiring thing for any campus recruiter would be to witness certain young talent, who have clearly not had the privileges of many others, shine and emerge very successful.
Q. Who makes an ideal campus recruiter?
An ideal campus recruiter is one who, through the various organisational offerings and initiatives, is able to judiciously balance the expectations of young talent in this ever changing age, with the organisation’s imperatives and principles.
Q. What do you see as some of the emerging trends in the campus recruiting space?
That would be methods and instruments that encourage and enable identification of talent whilst in their natural routine, and not within the created environs of GDs, case presentations, formal interviews, etc.
