MICA, Ahmedabad - India’s premier institute for Strategic Marketing and Communication, registered a 100% placement for the 20th Batch of its flagship PGDM- Communications that graduated on 28th March, 2015.
A total of 157 students of a batch of 160 chose to be placed through the institute’s Campus Placements process. A total of85 companies participated in the final placements, the same as last year.
The average salary was Rs. 11.3 lakh, a substantial raise of 22% from last year’s Rs. 9.3 lakh. The highest salary offered this placement season was Rs. 25 lakh, against last year’s offer of Rs. 23 lakh. The trend of international placements from MICA continued this year too with 3 students securing jobs overseas. Pre-placement offers indicated a positive growth.23% of the students were offered PPOs/PPIs even before the start of the placement season.
The largest intake was from Digital, Media and E-Commerce industries, closely followed by Retail, Internet & Technology, IT/ITES, FMCG/FMCD, Advertising and Market Research & Analytics. Government and Public Sector Navratana like Rural Electrification Corporation Ltd, made their presence felt, as did companies from sectors of BFSI, Education, Travel &Transport, Telecom and Consulting. Cognizant Interactive continued as the largest recruiter, followed by Google, Amazon, GroupM and others. Some new names on campus included IBM Interactive, Snapdeal, Berger Paints, Target Inc., Biocon, Grey Worldwide, Reliance Jio, Future Group, Yes Bank, Max Life, Del Monte Foods, Propaganda India, Uber, Arvind Internet Limited and Wildcraft.

Summer Internships at MICA also witnessed an unprecedented surge in both average stipend and number of companiesparticipating, specifically in the digital and e-commerce segments.The highest internship stipend increased to Rs. 1.6 lakhs. The overall average stipend increased by 35% over last year. Some of the new companies on campus included Boston Consulting Group, LinkedIn, Whirlpool, HCL, Puma, Hector Beverages, Arvind Mills and Shoppers Stop.
