We all start with tremendous enthusiasm, then keep losing it with time and finally at some point we give up. If at first you fail, do not worry keep trying is what my motto of life.
I come from a middle-class family. And by family, I mean my mother, father and I. We had family business which was going fine. My dad had a few business partners, they knew each other from past 20 years. One fine day, we come to know one of them, has sold all the shares of the company, declared it bankrupt and fled. My dad was broken. He was hospitalized and had a mild heart attack. He was terribly shook by the news, as that was the only source of income then. We had lost almost everything we had.
But my father did not give up. From the day he was discharged, he started looking out for a job. He got a job as an accountant in a small firm. He gave his heart and soul to the company. Somewhere, my mother and I understood why dad was so engrossed in the job, it helped him to forget the loss he faced. He worked day in and out to make the company grow in leaps and bounds. My dad grew up the corporate ladder in no time.
Soon this tiny firm was recognized by an MNC and acquired it. And since then it was no turning back for the company as well as him. My dad is a retired happy man now. He keeps telling me this story, pointing out on the fact that not to crib over the past or to hold it for too long. And definitely not to give up whatever the scenario it is.
