When you talk about the Aditya Birla Group, it is one of the biggest corporations in India. The diverse business function offers a plethora of opportunities at all levels. I used Vodafone as my primary sim for a very long time without knowing it is a part of ABG. Vodafone always had the best offers for us at the best prices in the market when compared to its competitors. Even the offers like Vodafone Flex and Youth offers were amazing. When I first came to know about youth offer, I was eligible for a full year Amazon prime membership at half the price of the market. This was really a great deal for me plus the Vodafone play app provides a massive collection of movies, web series, songs, etc. After this, I tried some investment in Aditya Birla sun life mutual fund, which never disappointed me. Overall Aditya Birla group has been a good boost and support. With telecom to clothes to financial services, it is a complete deal.
Challenge
My Father runs a small wholesale business in my home town. While growing up, I always heard that I would be sitting in the shop with my father and support him. Everyone had my future decided for me. Even if you look in my family, all my ancestors, relatives, everyone owns a shop running in different cities. And they are hardly a few relatives who are graduates. So when I completed my 10th, there were a lot of questions raised by everyone regarding my choice of Science in School. Everyone had the same theory that I should have taken commerce, learn how accounting and market work, and just sit in the shop. But I kept my stand on what I liked and wanted to pursue and went ahead with engineering. I scored decent marks in my 12th and got into a decent engineering college. It was challenging to cope up in the beginning, but I did my best and managed to bag four good job offers during the placement season. After working for three years in the IT sector, I finally left my job to pursue my higher degree leaving a promotion and a salary raise in my company. Having a significant opportunity cost as such, it may seem a risky decision to some, but to me it seems the best thing to go ahead with, and here I am at IMT Ghaziabad, one of the premier B schools of India pursuing my PGDM degree with Specialization in BFS and I Do not regret my decision at all.
