Aditya Birla Group (ABG) is a pioneer among India’s Business Conglomerates and has offered its valuable services to the country for 160+ years. The line "ABG touches millions in the world" is factually accurate, one may not realise the product they are so fondly using comes from the prestigious ABG group, as was the case with me when I was in still my schooling. I remember showing off with branded clothes of Louis Philippe, Allen Solly, Van Heusen, Peter England which I used to think are imported from foreign countries, till I got enlightened by the fact that the brands were Indian. As I progressed mentally and physically, it gave me even a greater sense of pride that such premium quality products are also produced in India, contrary to what I believed. The cellphone service Idea I was using at that time belonged to ABG, the house that I lived in was constructed using Ultra Tech Cement. Sooner I realised that ABG is much more significant than what I have imagined and is present almost everywhere. Be it the telecom sector, financial sector, textile, fashion, chemical, fertilizers, metals, cement, BPO, IT services ABG has carved a name for itself about everywhere and is continuing to transform lives around the world. Till date, I use the products and services provided by ABG, and these have become an integral part of my life as when once you continue to use a product for a long time, you get a sense of belonging, and you get emotionally attached to that particular brand.

I am going to describe the phase of my life that has been most challenging for me and transformed me into a whole new person altogether. While I was preparing for CAT, during the last month, I got hit by dengue and was hospitalised/bedridden for an entire month and could not study even a single word, 3 days before the exam I got so demotivated, lost all hope that I have wasted a year and thought that I would not be able to do anything. After hopelessly searching for answers, I remembered a piece of advice my Dad gave me, that was never to lose hope, never give up on your dreams and always trust yourself. With all the courage I had left at that point, revised whatever I had studied up to that point for three days went on to appear for the exam. I wanted to give up like five times in between the 3 hours exam but remembered my father’s words every time they gave me hope, a motivation. When I saw the result, I had scored 95.76 percentile in CAT and was able to secure admission at IMT, though it may not be a fabulous score for some people, for me it meant something else entirely knowing the condition I was facing.

There will be many challenges in life when you would want to bow down, give up, quit but what you got to remember always is what you believe in, who are you fighting for, and who you are as a person if you can do that you can rise above any challenge.

“As long as there is life, there is potential; and as long as there is a potential, there will be a success! You will sprout again when cut down! You will rise again even when you fall!” ― Israelmore Ayivor
