Aditya Birla Group an Indian Multinational conglomerate is not just a group of companies but is the heart of the nation’s daily lives. Everybody has been introduced to and has interacted with one or more of the brands of this coveted group knowingly or unknowingly. Being one of the largest Indian private sector conglomerates, it provides employment to about 120,000 people worldwide. It has a wide range of companies from fiber, non-ferrous metal, cement, branded apparel, chemicals, fertilizers, insulators, telecom, BPO and what not. However, on a personal level Aditya Birla Group has been big in many lives not just by selling products but by becoming a part of the everyday routines of people. On a personal level, since childhood I have experienced its impact first hand. As a child and throughout my teen years, birthdays were a very special occasion in my life. And one distinct memory of those special days is shopping for the birthday outfit. My mother and I used to shop at Pantaloons every time for this special day. Also since we are on the topic of apparel, I have grown up seeing my father wear shirts from Louis Philippe and Peter England. Moreover, I embarked on this journey of management with suits from Allen Solly and Van Heusen. Needless to mention any average young adult is addicted to fashion by Forever21 and online sites such as Abof. They say, clothes make a statement; and ABG has certainly helped millions make many.
In my life the biggest challenge so far has been adjusting to new places. My father having a transferrable job has proven to be both a boon and a bane for me. While I got to live and travel in my parts of the state Odisha, and experience their quirks first hand. It also proved to be major challenge to cope and adjust in the various new schools, housing localities, cultures and backgrounds. This is my eighth educational institute so far, and I have learnt the art of adjusting, being patient, persistent and optimistic from this life of constant change. I have learnt that the biggest barrier to growth is our mindset. It can us fly as well as restrict us. Which is why in order to overcome any barrier no matter how small or big it is, strong will power, believe upon oneself and tireless efforts is key.
