We now know that Aditya Birla Group has spread its wings to industries such as fibre, clothing, cement, apparel, Telecom, IT, financial services through its top-notch brands such as Ultratech, Grasim, Idea, Abof, Allen Solly, Peter England, Pantaloons, Van Heusen. But I remember the time when even though being fond of clothing stores like Van Heusen and Pantaloons, I was unaware of the fact that they belong to ABG. This is the proof of the fact that ABG products have made a strong place in the lives of the people not just because of their association with the premier group Aditya Birla, but because of quality and customer service they render.
“Perspective is everything when you are experiencing the challenges of life.” - Joni Eareckson Tada
It is true that setting goals in life is easy but achieving them requires persistent hard word and positive attitude. There will be times when accomplishing them will seem to be impossible but then our perspective towards the problem will make us sail through and find the right path. My perspective towards problem solving and facing challenges in life changed when my journey started towards the MBA preparation.
Pursuing MBA was my next goal in the list of life goals and I decided to commence its preparation. The real challenge was not to start the preparation for the MBA but to purse it along with my job. Preparation required time, but time became the biggest constraint as my job was demanding and challenging. I had to find time such that my preparation does not suffer and I can give fair amount of time in learning and applying the concepts along with giving the mock tests. To keep my preparation aligned with the job demands, I tried several strategies of buying time by waking up early than before and making productive use of weekends. But as they say that, it is easy to start but difficult to continue, things started falling apart when it became difficult to keep a balance between the MBA Preparation and Office work. The Goal of doing MBA from a premier college like IIM started to seem distant and preparation felt like a burden when, balancing act started taking a toll on me.
But in this whole process of shattering and realigning, I took one of the biggest lessons of life that, when you change the perspective about the challenges that come in your goal path, walking on that path becomes a cake walk. I realised that it was not the requirement of more time but efficient use of time that was needed to keep my preparation smooth. So, I started utilizing my travelling time, my lunch breaks, social media engagement time for the preparation through apps. Today, I am proud to say that I, once an MBA aspirant has become the MBA student of IIM Nagpur, by perceiving my MBA goal as ‘an opportunity to succeed’ than ‘a chance to fail’.
