The applicants for the 2024-26 MBA and MBA Analytics programs at IIM Kashipur were large, with 237,709 aspirants for MBA and 8,146 for MBA Analytics. The General category applied in the most significant number, with 65% of the applicants for MBA and 53.9% for MBA Analytics.

Among the applicants who qualified for the PI process in CAP 2024, 23,376 qualified for an MBA. Of the total number qualified, only 1,698 were shortlisted for PI, and this gives an idea about the challenging nature of the selection process even in the CAP colleges.
For the MBA program, a cutoff based on percentile was there for shortlisting candidates for PI. The minimum cutoff has been 94 percentile and above for the General category; for others, it has been much less. For MBA Analytics, the shortlisting is based on composite scores only.
The distribution of work experience in the candidates for the 2024-26 batch indicates that most had work experience for up to 6 months, which corresponds to 112 MBA candidates, while for 120 candidates, their working experience was 12-24 months. For MBA Analytics, the trend was vice versa; that is, up to 6 months of work experience corresponds to 57 candidates, while more than 24 months of work experience corresponds to 48 candidates.
Academic qualifications for the potential MBA candidates reflect that 70-79% was the highest graduation score, followed by 80-89%. In the case of MBA Analytics, the proportion of candidates with scores in the 80-89% category is highly above the last, pointing toward a stronger academic background for this specific cohort.
Considering the stream-wise and gender distribution, the MBA program had more non-engineering male candidates as compared to females with a difference of 133 and 66. Engineering males comprised 83 with a closer ratio between the genders. The MBA Analytics had higher participation from female candidates who were non-engineering, representing 70 in this program.
