ANKIT GUPTA

I am currently pursuing my MBA from IIM Lucknow. Did graduation in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from BITS Pilani, Pilani campus in 2015. I have a work experience of close to 4 years as a Consulting Analyst with EXL Services, Gurgaon. Passionate about tutoring, I joined NSS School on campus and have delivered 125+ online tutoring sessions for Vedantu. At IIM Lucknow, I am part of Team Disha, the placement mentoring committee responsible for mentoring over 900 students. I am actively into trekking. I'll be interning with Accenture Strategy for my upcoming summers.

Hey Agneeshwaran. Though NITIE is known best for supply chain ops domain, do not restrict NITIE to just that. Would recommend you going through the following article to have a detailed view about it. https://insideiim.com/10-things-that-make-nitie-mumbai-special/?src=ankit

Insideiim posts, among innumerable eclectic articles, a large number of articles on CAT and various strategies followed by toppers to crack this exam. But honestly, till date, I found only two articles to be the best of all. This is the first article of its kind that is the best of the best in my viewpoint because you know, there are many similar articles on this exam and every topper suggests us aspirants to maintain a high level of accuracy but nobody helps us to understand the picture clearer in this way using numbers and graphs which is why, I liked this article so much.

I would look at this in isolation.. If say, you are not able to solve any quant problem, I would suggest you to leave that problem in the first go whenever you attempt the mock. Once you are done with your mock, get back to the question and give that question ample time. The same happened me with geometry problems. It took me time to solve the problem but as and when I practiced enough number of same problems, it somehow got imbibed in my head and then I had to focus on my calculation speed. So start with the concept and then go on to the speed. Thoroughly analyzing your mocks might be the only solution here.

Appreciated, May I know to which topics should I give more weightage in quants, so that I am able to do around 25 questions.

I did well in DILR and QA.. So I made sure I maintained high accuracy level even if I did attempt 70-75% questions. Putting in lower attempt would give me more time per question but accuracy needs to be maintained then. In VARC, I practiced doing easy RCs and VA questions first and then go to RC again. I would then filter out factual or meaning based questions that would take me least reading basis the time limit.
