Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar concluded its three days management & cultural fest Xpressions, 2017 with quite a crescendo, by hosting Farhan Live, at its concert night, “Celeblitz”, on November 12, 2017. This was Farhan Akhtar’s first live performance in Bhubaneswar.
Xpressions, the biggest Management-Cultural fest in Eastern India is a three-day extravaganza which is scheduled to take place from 10th to 12th November 2017. This year marks the 20th year of this legacy which started in 1998 with an aim to provide participants with a cultural and managerial platform to showcase and explore their skills and talents through various competitions, business simulation games and cultural events.
IIM Lucknow is back with the latest edition of Manfest-Varchasva, it’s annual Business, Cultural and Sports festival, scheduled to be held between 17th-19th November, this year. Over the past 30 years, the fest has successfully worked towards providing its participants and guests with an experience like no other, filled with enticing, exciting and enriching events. This year, it’s getting bigger and better, with a plethora of events, competitions and speakers spread across the domains of marketing, finance, strategy, dance, theatre, fashion, literary and much more.
Financial Resource Management, Marketing Management, Organisational Behaviour, Macroeconomics Analysis & Policy: the subjects taught in one of the premier business schools in India is veritable. Case studies, group presentations, assignments, study groups for term examinations: fostering and bolstering our innate abilities to perform and excel in a group, one must give it up to business schools to inculcate habits necessary for becoming a successful manager through their pedagogy. After all, what goes in comes out right? Then what really differentiates us from the ones who decide to pursue the same degree through correspondence, may be? Is MBA really a-solution-fits-all? Does that mean that at the end of the first year, when we go for our summer internships, it’ll usually be the toppers of the batch who’ll make the most of it? After all, all arguments aside, classroom discussions are more to stimulate your intellect, and group activities can only mildly put to practice what the theory says (or does not).

After reminiscing about the gruelling term packed with placement preparation and getting used to the academic schedule in b-schools, the first years are now left with one question that they seem to be asking themselves -
NITIE kicks off its annual fest “Avartan 2017” with a bang with Ms Smriti Mandhana of Indian Women’s Cricket Team inaugurating the event. Smriti is known not only for her cricketing prowess but also for her compassionate behaviour. The left-handed bats-women played a very important role in helping India reach the finals in the recently held Women’s World Cup. Though India narrowly missed the title but definitely won the hearts of billions of people. In a short address to NITIE, Smriti mentioned that she became fascinated by the lush and green campus of NITIE and inspired the students to take up sports as well as to be fit. Such words of wisdom made the campus roar with excitement and inspiration. NITIE was proud to host such a legendary sportsperson.
