On 23rd of June, 2018 as I landed in IGI Airport, I had a heart full of dreams and a head full of expectations. After all the 2 years one spends in a B-School are supposed to be the best years of their lives. It was my 3rd visit to the national capital and this was going to be a long one!!
Everybody - and I mean, literally everybody - is fighting everyone else to gain control of the entire landmass of Westeros. IIFT Delhi is no less than a real world Westeros. IIFT is 7 acres long ; the splendidly cold north- New Hostel inhabited by the Starks (seniors), the mid-region – academic block, the hot southern desert – Old Hostel inhabited by the Lannisters ( juniors) and not to forget the Wildlings – C9 (few junior boys). Although the journey to conquer Westeros does not involve murderous plotting, it sure does involve paradoxical climaxes, fantabulous fantasies, assassinations (figurative), forced rituals, battle scenes and tentative tragedies.
The journey to get through MBA entrances just for a seat at a premier B-school is so fierce that we are prepared to think it is 'us against the world'. Many of us entered the red old building with the same thought. But little did we know about the culture within these historical walls which has shaped us to think differently. JBIMS is all about its people.
I have joined IIM Trichy only a few days back, 17 to be exact. The experiences at the classroom have not only been eye-opening but also lively and interesting.
I’m Karthik and I hail from Chennai. The journey up until IIM has been an interesting ride thus far, right from my schooling from Chennai to my undergraduate from IIT Patna.
I have many few crazy friends in IIM Trichy and I am having a wonderful experience with them. I have lot of friends and now I am going to describe few who helped me right from the preparatory course.
I completed my assignments and in half asleep state went to have a glass of water. It was 3 AM and when entire India was sleeping, rock starar, with her full enthusiasm and energy jumping on her bed was singing a Tamil song (Though we are in IIM Trichy but not everyone understands Tamil). Yes she was none other than Roshni She is an engineer and was working in the IT analytics section for 2 years and was more curious on the part on how to use these skills to enhance the businesses around so she joined a prestigious B-school that is IIM Trichy. Roshni believes that ‘All work and no play makes Jack a dull boy’ so even in this busy schedule she found a way to keep her hobby alive. Yes, she is a good time manager.
