Being the first among the new IIMs to move to its permanent campus, IIM Udaipur has distinguished itself from other new IIM’s. The sheer overwhelming size of the campus, accompanied by its green surroundings can make anybody awestruck.
It has been truly said that MBA journey brings professionalism in the students and helps them adapt to what is required in the actual corporate environment. Two years of MBA is a testing ground for the students to explore themselves as much as possible. The opportunities available at a B-School are tremendous and hone the skills of students.
MBA is said to be an overall experience and an improvement in your overall personality from when you enter the B-school to when you leave the B-school. This overall transformation cannot be achieved without having a residential programme inside the B-school campus.
We call ourselves the Fort Balicha. Situated right in the midst of Aravali hills, in the royal Rajputana state of Mewar, the land of ‘Balidaan, Shaurya and Veergati’ as put by Malik Muhammad Jayasi in the mid-15th century, the halls and corridors of our majestic campus are the true epitomai of the same. We have the largest of all IIM campuses @300 acres of land, with 5+ lakes and planned residential housing for 5000 occupants. The Institute aims to be in world’s top 100 BSchool by 2030, and we shall be participating in FT BSchool rankings from 2020. We also have a proposed chair for Accreditation from AACSB to be set up in the latter half of our current academic session, and we shall be only the 2nd IIM in India (link) joining the likes of IIM Calcutta & ISB Hyderabad, to get this accreditation.
I would see IIM Udaipur as a unique campus in three broad ways.
IIM Udaipur is well known as research-oriented institutions. The Academic curriculum of our college is also rigorous. But despite this busy schedule and workload we manage to spend time with friends and increase our knowledge from peer to peer learning not only about academics people but also about various parts of our country, multiple cultures and personality.
People are drawn to a B-school for a multitude of reasons. Be it the fat packages, the exposure, the learning, the networking opportunities, the tag of a prestigious school. While joining IIM Udaipur, there was only one thing that mattered the most to me- the chance to meet and interact interesting people (my batch mates) from different walks of life, and everything else just seemed superfluous to me. And boy, I was not left disappointed after joining this institute. If someone were to ask me how I view IIMU, I would describe it as a melting pot of some of the most talented and diverse set of people I have ever met. An eclectic set of people live out two years of their lives here, and I would like to take some of your time by introducing a few to them.
