Out of 17 events, 9 events belonged to the Management verticals with Finascere being the prime event of the Finance specialisation. Finascere was instrumental in bringing together the Financial Whizkids from different colleges across the country, ready to fight it out and be the Vanguards at the event, in sync with the theme this year – ‘Vision of the Vanguards’.
The flagship event of Revelation 2017 – Colossal Clash witnessed the participation of students from various b-schools battling it out for the coveted title of ‘Best Manager’. The event was 35 hours long and included rounds from every vertical, testing the participants on every parameter.
PRoelio is a unique national-level case study competition organized by Information Systems and Media Relations Team (iSMaRT) which involves participants to solve a PR disaster and come up with unique strategies to salvage the value, reputation and trustworthiness of the client it represents. In the 2017 edition, the competition saw nationwide participation from premier B-Schools like IIM Shillong, IIM Raipur, IIM Indore, NMIMS Mumbai, JBIMS Mumbai, MICA, SCMHRD Pune, DMS IIT Delhi etc. apart from the home campus SIBM Pune. After a grilling elimination round on 13 January 2017 in which around 170 teams tried to solve a decision analysis quiz, eight teams were shortlisted for the finale which was held at the SIBM Pune campus.
Indian Institute of Foreign Trade (IIFT) emerged as the winner of the National Final of CFA Institute Research Challenge in India along with IIM Bangalore and NMIMS Mumbai. The event was held in Mumbai on Saturday, 4th February 2017.

When I finalised my Business school admission, I was curious about what Business School students end up doing during first few months of business school life. I headed to MISB Bocconi to find out how my new classmates are. The novelty week was just about finding my feet, but discovered that getting acquainted with new classmates in a relatively relaxed atmosphere is a great way to start building your network! You never know who might be instrumental to your post-MBA career. This networking got me in touch with two of the talented classmates from the crop of my peers. Studying together and hanging out post classroom sessions became an ordeal.
One of the things that a life during MBA has taught me is that going forward a large part of my time awake will be spent in going through emails. It was one such ordinary Monday morning that I woke up to a barrage of emails from professors and an endless number of committees. But one mail caught my attention. ‘P&G has sent you an Amazon Gift card’ the subject line read and my happiness knew no bounds, it was my first time winning a prize during my 4 months stay here at SPJIMR pursuing PGDM.
A team of four PGPX students – Akarsh Kosuri, Anupam Mohanty, Sumit Pant and Syed Omar Alam – during their stint at Purdue University, USA, won a cash prize of US$ 600 at the Purdue v. IU Stamina Case Competition organized by the Business Information and Analytics Center at the Krannert School of Management.
