'Why TISS Is Bliss' By Tanwi Das

A summer morning soaked in the humidity of Mumbai and I was travelling in an auto-rickshaw to reach for my interview, submerged in my imaginations about the place.  Lost in my thoughts I imagined how huge the college building might be, drawing in from the structures that I saw around. “Madam, you’ve reached”, bellowed the driver and I was still struggling to find the name of the college hidden somewhere in the lush green verdant. And there I was struck by the idiosyncrasy of the place.

MBA : A Word-Shop?

MBA : A Word-Shop?

What is an MBA? A route to a job? A brahminical discipline taught only to the most deserving? A license to be a cowboy in the corporate world? An entry ticket to the upper middle class life?

'Influencer Marketing Is Hot. So Hot, There Are Cat Influencers' - Deepika Mallyk, IIM Bangalore

Content is surely the king. But influencers, crown this content king. The impact of influencer marketing is evident from the popularity gained by our favorite series of fantasy novels ‘Harry Potter’. It's only 43 influencers who drove majority of share conversations. With estimates from surveys about the rise of influencer marketing and ineffectiveness of traditional tactics by global trusted companies such as PwC, Nielsen, Forrester Research etc. it isn’t surprising to expect something as crazy as pets making thousands of dollars, having millions of followers and with net worth in billions. Meanwhile words like petfluencer, pelbrities, pet blogging, petworking, pawesome and petselfie etc. are all over internet. Brands aren’t making these pets such as L’IL BUB, Tuna, Manny the frenchie, Colonel Meow  etc. famous – it’s the other way around. For instance, grumpy cat is the official ‘spokesperson’ for Friskies, brand for wet and dry cat foods and treats. Grumpy Cat’s merchandise includes licensed t-shirts, mugs, stuffed toys and even ‘Grumppucinno’ iced coffee beverages.

How To Manage Your Stress Effectively

It is that time of the year where stress in students would be at its peak. With Entrance Exams approaching for aspirants and semester exams and placement season for current students, stress would play a major role in exams. Some amount of stress is inevitable no matter how 'chilled out' you are about your studies or how well prepared you think you are. The point is to function with a level of stress that benefits you and not that  deters you from moving forward. The key to manage any thing is to understand the thing well. So let's see what stress is? One of the definition in Oxford dictionary suggests that stress is "A state of mental or emotional strain or tension resulting from adverse or demanding circumstances." Exams and test preparation being the adverse and demanding circumstances here, you need an outlet to better manage the emotional strain that's a part and parcel of studying for and in a rigorous course.
