AIMS Institutes is proud to announce the conclusion of its final placement process for the academic year 2014-16. The institute witnessed participation of multitude of companies across varied domains. Our corporate visitors were delighted to see the enthusiasm students exuded in the placement process, which was evident in their positive feedback. A total of 97 companies participated in the final placement process. The year saw the institute strengthen its relationship with 58 past recruiters and established relationships with 39 new companies.
No prizes for guessing what the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) governor Raghuram Rajan will do when he unveils the bi-monthly monetary policy on Tuesday.
“If there was a land called procrastination, I would be their queen.” This was my motto for most of my life. I was really big on procrastinating things no matter how serious their consequences. I refused to study until the night before the exams, started working on assignments as LATE as possible and did everything other than starting things on time. At first it was manageable. But as time passed by and I enrolled myself for a Masters course in Psychology, I soon realised that my usual way of procrastinating is going to be the end of me. Not only did I have more study load but being the Class Representative added to the stress. I was always running around behind 5 different teachers, answering students queries, keeping a check on submission and test dates, finding notes and the list goes on. There was no way I could procrastinate any more. I was always forgetting something or the other and it was detrimental not only for me but also for my fellow classmates. I knew I need to change my ways but I had no clue how. So after a series of self-talks and reflections I realised I needed to first find the root cause of my issue. My issue of procrastination. And that was just the first step. So this is exactly what I did:
These days Sensex and Nifty trigger more to Dr Raghuram Rajan’s future than to stock prices. His future is uncertain. Is he going to continue as the Governor of the Reserve Bank of India? Probably, it is a million-dollar question in everyone’s mind, particularly investors’. The fact is that this uncertainty is going to prevail till near September, when the incumbent Government decides his fate. Actually, it is not only his fate which is at stake but Indian economy's too.
It began with a joke. “ Tu ab MBA karega?” “ Tu IIM jayega?”. How do I thank god for turning the joke upside down.
I remember the days when I used to prepare hard for SNAP. I gave it all because I wanted nothing less than one among the top 3 Symbiosis colleges. Having participated in number of quiz competitions and winning most of them, I knew I had an edge in GK section. I put more attention on logical reasoning as its weightage is more in SNAP. Fast forwarding to the results day – I couldn’t hit a century; my wicket dropped in nervous nineties but I managed to clear cutoffs of SIBM Bengaluru and SIIB Pune. I had scheduled SIIB interview earlier so that I have some lead before my SIBMB interview. Like all Indian families, my family too insisted me to join SIIB Pune so that I being a Mumbai resident can stay close to them, but I was very determined about my decision. I was astonished to see the growth of this college – how in just 7 years it was comparable to other 20-30 years old colleges of India. I dug deep, talked to alumni, and teachers at my coaching center and all of them reinforced my decision to go with SIBMB.
“A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops” – when I first read this quote by Henry Adams, I admit that I was inspired but it was only after coming here that I understood its essence. I recall the day when I got my admission letter from IIM Bodh Gaya. I was happy not only because I had made it to an IIM but also because afters 3 years of persistent efforts I could proudly say that I have done it. As the initial celebrations died down, I began to realize that it’s going to be an exciting journey ahead. Everything was new, but the thing that I was most excited about was the chance to learn from the best.
