The long wait of finally getting an admission to a B school got over and the most awaited journey at IMT Ghaziabad began. The first day at college was like a treasure hunt. Every student was running around in the campus searching for Admission form, Dining Hall, Hostel Form, Hostel Room and Room Partner. In the evening we finally got to see the campus in and out and all the effort seemed worthy now. The food in the Dining Hall was absolutely fantastic and for food lovers like me it is heaven on earth.

This July, AIM unveils AIM Forward, an interactive Facebook app that seeks to gauge whether students are best fit for an MBA, a Master in Development Management, or an Executive Education program. By presenting a series of questions that ask about career aspirations and current experience, the app recommends which program would best further their professional and personal development. They are also able to customize the Future Timeline option, where the app creates a timeline that projects their life at AIM. The app can be shared on their own Facebook timelines, and they are also free to invite friends to try the app. AIM Forward is an innovative way for the Asian pioneer in international management to attract potential students to join its diverse and vibrant community, and to explore the opportunities open to them in the Institute.

The reason for such vigorous debate on her credentials has been because of the criticality of her position. For India to be able to leverage the strength of its youth and to develop its younger population better, education is the sole key. She has time and again requested her detractors to let her work speak for her and the nation is now waiting to see how she proves herself by her work.
So ever since I wrote on this topic (read Part One here), I have been getting congratulatory emails, requests for the data I used to run the analysis and a few emails/ comments on my post contesting the validity of the analysis. I think some people didn’t really get it. What I had analyzed, hypothesized and then proven using data was that the gap in movie review ratings between TOI and IMDB (and not the actual rating on TOI itself) moves up whenever there is a bankable star in a movie.
The main challenge of Indian agriculture is usually seen as productivity, and that too with a focus on the staple crops of wheat and rice. The government’s support system has also been focused on these crops – earlier through an effort to develop new varieties, and now through an elaborate system of procurement at minimum support prices.
