IIM Kozhikode presents BACKWATERS 2014

Think Backwaters and you might be beguiled to think of the brackish lagoons and lakes lying parallel to the Arabian Sea coast of Kerala but IIM Kozhikode has redefined its meaning. What immediately comes to mind instead is a group of future management executives battling it out amongst themselves to emerge supreme. It represents a confluence point for management students in India as corporate honchos and academicians adjudicate over events dealing with leading burning issues. Backwaters’14 is here to stir up the inherent competitive spirit in every management student.

Titan Elevate: Clash of the Titans at IIM Shillong

The IIM Shillong campus evaluation round of Titan Elevate was held on 22nd September, 2014. Titan Elevate is a thought-provoking case-study competition for B-School students from esteemed MBA colleges across India. It strives to equip fresh talent to face tomorrow’s business challenges. Four teams were shortlisted for the campus evaluation round. Each team excelled in terms of innovative solutions provided in their presentations which were followed by a challenging Q&A session by the panellists.

Topping the first year of MBA in an elite B school, in the face of fierce competition is one of the rarest of rare achievements. Most of us would agree that it even beats being a 100 percentiler. At least 80-100 people are gunning for top spot and these are 80-100 of the best minds in the country. No doubt topping the first year is such phenomenal achievement that all batchmates, whether grudgingly or otherwise, have immense respect for the topper. It takes great determination, self-control and consistency to do well in all exams, to avoid slipping up at any stage.

Summer Placements : XLRI Jamshedpur – Class of 2014 -16

Summer placements this season have been something of a party, at least at top B schools. Students from here have been making their joy known on Facebook, and for once, the draconian Placecoms didn't seem to mind. From the victory dance at MDI Gurgaon, to euphoria at IIM L, B schools are having a good time. XLRI is having a great time. For the second year in succession, XLRI is the first to report its summer placements on InsideIIM. Summer placements were excellent for the batch of 2015 last year , especially in the form of a greater width and depth of profiles in finance. This year, it is even better.
