Google is one of the most desired workplaces for many new MBAs and graduates. With googliness being its DNA, getting placed as an intern or bagging a PPO from Google is like a dream for many. In this highly detailed interview, an IIM Indore student describes the complex and thorough process that he underwent to get selected for a summer internship with Google. Here's how he did it!
Why MBA? Let us cut to the chase. You google ten reasons for any topic, and you can find dozens of results. There is this irresistible urge to share your opinion once you achieve something. Or maybe not. Take, for example, these gym freaks. One excellent evening this roommate of mine gets up from his couch, rides an uber to Nike showroom, and buys a sleek pair of running shoes. And suddenly he is a fitness expert. For the next two weeks, I can’t hear the end of, ‘You should join me at the gym bro’ or ‘Join me on writing this fitness blog bro.’ First, I am not his 'bro', and second, that shoe went on a permanent sabbatical soon after that. Anyway, the moral of the story is, unlike my friend, I am minimally qualified to write about the reasons to do an MBA.
“Coming from a family of a farmer, I used to be fascinated by seeing how farmers are so giving in nature and how hardworking they can be to deliver for society. It somehow built strength and helped develop my character as well while I was growing up in Haryana. The mindset that I have developed has been mostly because of this upbringing of mine.” - Gitansh Sardana, IIFT Alumnus.
It feels like only yesterday when I was trying to settle in my room, the environment, seeing off my parents and running around for the orientation week and working with Mr. Mike Valenti for the first consultation that we had to do (Read first Case analysis). In a blink of an eye, I am sitting in my room, after a long 5-hour nap, sipping my tea and writing this post here. Everything just seems like a blur, too much happening in too little time.
