My Internship Diaries - Summer Internship Experience At UltraTech
I had always wondered what an internship during B- School stint would be like. Will it entail any substantial work at all? Afterall interns are not permanent employees, therefore, it is only pragmatic that companies would not want to invest so much into them. Words from seniors who had been interns in the corporate world also didn’t help contradict my belief. With these questions in mind, I ventured into the Ulchemies Program with minimal expectations. But with the passage of time, I realised that my perceptions pertaining to the internship were totally misguided. At the first day of the internship itself, I was given a glimpse of what the coming two months at UltraTech held in store for me.

The Story Of Thousands Who Aspire To Pursue An MBA - Bobby Sinha, NMIMS Mumbai
I am a 27-year-old girl living in Mumbai, starting each day with the most perfect agenda to keep me at the top of my game. To tell you about my story will be to narrate the journey of 250,000 or probably more people who aspire to get into the best b-schools in India and abroad every year. MBA was not an overnight decision for me, I started my career as a software engineer in one of the best IT firms in the country and was awarded for being the top 2% in my batch, all within 3 months of my joining. Thus, began my life in Bangalore, office to home, home to office, and the never-ending process of learning more about how to behave in the corporate world. During my stay there I interacted with many managers and seniors who would encourage me to not just restrict myself to the technical assignments but get a glimpse of the broader segment. One such engagement was to brainstorm the new features to be added in power calculator in DecisionSpace Geoscience space used by the clients. It began with an intense 90-minute discussion which went on for weeks till the blueprint for the power calculator was finalized. Post this I became a regular participant in all such engagements be it with the client or my managers. It was during those days that I decided to get masters, to be precise MBA. Deciding to get an MBA was one thing but being aware of the time and effort required to get into the business school of my choice was another story. I took a week’s time to gather all the data related to the course, talked with dozens of people in the same domain, consulted with my undergrad faculties and of course few friends (who were also aspiring the same). Leaving my job was not an option for me as I really enjoyed my work, so I tailormade the following schedule to give ample attention to both work and MBA entrance test preparation (let’s call it MBA prep): My day usually started at 6.30 hours followed by 90 minutes of reading newspaper and articles (mostly related to topics that interest me or anything which had been in news during that time)I tried to stay late in the office to solve questions of analytical and reasoning skills – I had colleagues who were also preparing for MBA and they helped me a lot. At night, I used to continue with my analysis of past mock tests and note the areas I need to focus on. I used to go to bed midnight to get proper sleep of 5-6 hours to be fueled enough for the next.I followed the above regime religiously for 7 months and when the result of my convert to NMIMS, Mumbai was announced I was sitting in a restaurant in Bangalore and it was the proudest moment of my life till date. Now that I am here in Mumbai pursuing the course, I feel challenged everyday by the talented people around which also motivates me to keep going and overcoming challenges in my life.
An Ordinary Girl With An Extraordinary Life - Moumita Das, NMIMS MUMBAI
Aditya Birla has had an everlasting presence in my life ever since childhood. ABG has various brands under its umbrella which has been part of my life’s transition from a child to teenage to a working individual and finally as I currently embark on my journey to be a future leader. One of the areas where ABG has made me feel it’s extravagant presence has been in my home. You might be wondering how? Well it has been through one of their most popular brands Ultra-tech Cement. Home is the place where I have grown up and where my most precious memories harbour. Specially for me I have spent 25 years of my life at my home the spectrum of emotions have been huge from heart-breaking ones to joyous ones- both of which has brought tears to my eyes. Home is never a place it’s a feeling and Aditya Birla has contributed a major way in ensuring that this feeling stays in my life forever. Another subsidiary of ABG that has been having an impact since a long time is Aditya Birla Fashion and Retail Limited. ABGFRL has a lot of brands under it such as Van Heusen , Allen Solly, Peter England, Forever 21, Louis Philippe. Out of these brands I have been using some since teenage years and after joining MBA I have shifted to rest of the brands. Since the teenage years I have mainly used the brand Forever 21 in various spheres of my life. This brand has stayed with me since the time I transitioned from an teenager to a working woman (Forever 21) to an MBA student (Allen Solly , Van Heusen) . I still remember the day when I got shortlisted for interview to NMIMS and I decided to buy a blazer. The first brand that caught my eye had been Allen Solly and when I wore the blazer I could feel a surge of confidence in my veins and at that moment I felt I am ready for the world. As they say every first is always special , hence Allen Solly always holds a special place in my life. Not only this I remember that I wore this brand when I got an internship in my dream company. Once again ABG has created another special memory for me and I wish in future it continues to do so as I get to live my dream of being a future leader.
