My journey of 8 weeks started with the preparation of 12 weeks. Everyday hustle was on the go. Lectures, club activities, exams and internship preparations as well, all happening at once. This was my first step towards management. At that point in time, it seemed like the end of life, but soon, at my internship, I realized its importance. Someone well said that,” We appreciate the moment when it’s already gone”, and so happened with me.
Today, as I sit down to pen down my summer internship experience, a myriad of thoughts crosses my mind. In my opinion, since this is the most important time in our two-year journey of MBA, it’s not just about the exponential learning and the rich experience which an MBA student is looking for, it is indeed the taste of corporate which every MBA student should relish and savour. This experience will serve as a pillar as I am ready to embark upon my corporate roller coaster after completion of my MBA in the coming year.
Bagging internship at UltraTech Cement was not an easy task! From group discussion to getting shortlisted for the 1st round and then to 2nd round was a sheer test of one's confidence and knowledge acumen on the overall functioning of a manufacturing company and how it manages to market its product and ensure the sustainability in the competitive environment. As a part of the preparation, I assured I am through with the basics of marketing where the book on marketing by Philip Kotler played a vital role. So it all began in Mumbai, a place where billion comes with dreams of becoming what they want to be. And, so did we! Just like a new, budding manager, we were all set to explore the new world.
