Very few times in life we come across people who have a lasting impact on us. They have stories that have defined them and inspired others. Anuja Bhattacharjee is one such story. When there were students, who had completely immersed themselves in their CAT-2015 preparation and were worrying about their low mock CAT scores and checking Gautam Puri’s videos on how to score a 99 percentile in 20 days, this girl was doing all that and preparing for her marriage! It is said that “Marriage changes you, it makes you a better person”. Well, I do not know about that, I just know that this 22-year old married girl is not just a good person at heart but also a very hardworking one.

I sit here typing in the cosy comfort of my room and this is exactly what I want to do, I have done some surfing on the internet (Apparently 3M makes many more products apart from post its) and I am thinking about a lot of my fellow mates here. Yesterday I was at a regional dinner, I was trying to 'socialise' - by that, I mean I was trying to talk to people I do not know. Networking is a buzz word in b-schools and everyone tries to follow it diligently, from mess halls to elevators everyone is always interacting, talking and learning, after all we learn mostly from our peers here. But sometimes I crave for the odd moments of silence, where I can reflect on all the things going around and introspect in peace. Sometimes I need hours of it.

In words of Eleanor Roosevelt - “The purpose of life is to live it, to taste experience to the utmost, to reach out eagerly and without fear for newer and richer experience.” What caught my attention is “newer and richer experience” and perhaps same was the intention but who would have thought that it would turn out to be more than that when a bunch of 29 participants including me from IIM Shillong landed in Paris for a short term Study Abroad Program at IESEG School of Management, Paris.
