Milaap – Silver Jubilee, Vicennial, Quindecennial & Decade Batch Reunions The Alumni Committee also organizes reunions for our Alumni batches that complete 25, 20, 15 & 10 years of strong and everlasting bond with the Institute. It is a joyous occasion for the institute and the Alumni as well. Milaap is where they recreate the charm, energy, and enthusiasm their batch once shared while they were students. Four Milaaps (batch reunions) are organized every year, and they are:
● Silver Jubilee Reunion for the batch that completes 25 years
● Vicennial Reunion for the batch that completes 20 years
● Quindecennial Reunion for the batch that completes 15 years
● Decade Reunion for the batch that completes 10 years
3. City Meets-Our alums are spread across the globe, and to ensure they have a robust support system, the Alumni committee organizes city-wise meets for our Alumni. City Meets is an informal platform to build relationships and network with fellow alums living in the same city. Alumni get-togethers are organized
domestically and internationally.
4. CXO Meet- Institute has produced many industry leaders in the past 33 years. CXO meet serves as a platform for these industry leaders to come together to build the Institute brand. This event also intends to get industry leaders' input on how to take the institute forward. This platform acts as a meeting point for the luminaries of the corporate world across different fields.
5. Anveshan- The Alumni Committee organizes an informal meeting exclusively for first-year students. It allows them to interact with the most recent batch of Institute graduates and gather an overall view of life at the Institute, the internship process, placements, and live projects.
Below are some of the Alumni initiatives. These initiatives are the means through which our vision for the Alumni Association is turned into action through continuous engagement.
AlumSpeaks - an exclusive interview series with our Illustrious Alums - up close and personal on their journey, experiences, insights on the business landscape, and their mantras of success to enlighten us all. Alums serve as a bridge between the corporate world and the Business School. They are important stakeholders of the School. With an alum base of over 10000 alums spread across the globe, it is our constant endeavor to connect & collaborate with our alums. With many of our alums becoming industry leaders, we take pride in them and celebrate their successes.
1. KJSIM Jobs-It is an initiative that entitles our Alumni to share the job openings with other alums in their respective organizations. This process is facilitated through a Google group. By subscribing to this group, one gets access to share information regarding job openings in their respective organizations directly.
2. KJSIM Superstars – The Alumni Awards, which have been instituted to recognize and honor the alums who have brought laurels to KJSIM by making significant and outstanding contributions in their profession, business, and/or to society. The process involves nominations by batch-mates and self. The winners are
felicitated on the occasion of Nostalgia - KJSIM’s Annual Alumni Meet.
3. Alumni Virtual Clubs- Our alums are spread across the globe, and to ensure they have a strong support system, we have created virtual alum clubs (WhatsApp groups) based on locations. We have 6 international and 14 domestic virtual clubs.
4. AlCheMy- This is a mentorship initiative by the Alumni Committee for the students to make informed choices with the help of alum mentors. The essence of this initiative is to connect the final year students with our Alums with the aim of enhancing their outlook on various aspects of the industry. The students are bestowed with knowledge pertaining to current industry trends, expectations, and
requirements. Alumni also mentor students with respect to career choices, resume building, mock PI, etc.
5. Outreach- Outreach, i.e. the act of reaching out, as the name suggests, is an initiative meant to reach out to the Alums with the aim of reconnecting with them. It is followed by a meeting scheduled at the workplace of the Alumni. This initiative aims to keep the Alums updated about the recent happenings at KJSIM and to receive insights about their industry. We also invite suggestions from them to improve the standards of their alma mater and its students.
Building meaningful relationships with students and alums is vital for the strategic growth and advancement of higher education programs. Though alums typically move away from campus to pursue a career, they can stay in touch and build a global professional network. Some of them are successful entrepreneurs, and irrespective of their occupation and preoccupation, they actively involve themselves in the development of the Institution. We seed alums into almost every activity at the Institute, and we hope to keep and maintain such friendly and everlasting connections with our rich alum base.
