All General category candidates with a graduation degree must secure a minimum of 60% aggregate marks in their graduation degree and all candidates without a graduation degree must obtain a minimum of 50% aggregate marks in CA/ICWA/CS to qualify. Candidates must also meet the minimum CAT 2021 percentile cut-offs as mentioned in the table below:
All candidates who have opted for IIM Kozhikode and are fulfilling the above-mentioned minimum eligibility criteria would receive an email for online registration for admissions to IIM Kozhikode. Only those candidates who have successfully completed the online registration process for IIM Kozhikode will be considered for Step 2. Please note that this is a pre-interview registration process and not the call for interview.
Now that candidates not meeting the minimum cut-offs have been filtered out, IIM Kozhikode will create a shortlist of eligible candidates based on a weighted composite score that includes criteria such as 10th marks, 12th marks, CAT 2021 scores, Gender/Academic diversity, and Work Experience. The table below captures the weight for each of these components in calculating the composite score:
Previous work/professional experience will carry a weight of up to 5%, depending on the length of service as on December 31, 2021. Only fulltime remunerative work experience after graduation will be considered. Part-time/Project/Internship/Articleship/Pre-Graduation work experience will not be counted as work experience. A candidate with a work experience of 6 months or above will be eligible for work experience score.
The candidates’ short-list will be made available on the IIM Kozhikode website around the last week of January 2022. The interview call letters, venue details, etc. will be made available on the IIM Kozhikode website and the candidates need to download the same.
The short-listed candidates from Step-2 will have to appear for a PI. During the PI process, the panel will evaluate the academic efforts and disposition, general awareness and social disposition, attitude, personality and communication and the quality of work experience of each candidate.
The following are the factors based on which a candidate's resume will be evaluated.

What Does IIM Kozhikode's 2021 Admission Policy Mean For You?
IIM Kozhikode is amongst the few top-ranked IIMs that gives greater weight to a candidate's profile and diversity than their CAT score. In 2021, only 45% of the total weight of the PI shortlist will be in your hands, while the other 55% will depend on your academic performance in 10th and 12th, accrued work experience, and diversity. IIM Kozhikode is very unforgiving of troughs in a candidate's academic profile, eliminating from the admission process any applicant with less than 60% marks in 10th, 12th or graduation.
Female applicants and non-engineers will have a significant advantage in IIM Kozhikode's admission process, and will obtain an additional score of 10 (out of a possible 100) for either gender or academic diversity, but not both. Those with professional experience greater than 6 months and less than 61 months will also have an advantage in the admissions process.
Candidates who have completed professional certifications and qualifications, and those who graduated from institutes ranked ≤ 30 by MHRD-NIRF will have an advantage over the rest, as IIM Kozhikode also conducts a resume evaluation as a part of the selection process.
