NITIE or I should say, ‘THE GOD’S OWN CAMPUS’. This is the tagline that we NITIEzens proudly use while describing the beauty of our campus. NITIE is one of the top B-schools of India which is situated at the heart of the financial capital of our country, that is Mumbai. Our institute is recognized by MHRD as one of 15 centers of excellence including all IITs and IIMs. The topic of this article is ‘What makes my campus unique?’, isn’t it obvious!
Anybody who knows NITIE also knows that one thing that’s UNIQUE about NITIE is EVERYTHING. Let me walk you through few bullets:
1. Specialised Course: NITIE is a B-school but it does not offer those contemporary general management courses that other B-schools offer. NITIE is known as the mecca of supply chain management. NITIE offers two flagship courses Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Engineering & Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Management. No other B-school in whole India provides specialized management degree in industrial engineering. Also, we have three more courses pertaining specifically to industry needs. These are Post Graduate Diploma in Manufacturing Management, Post Graduate Diploma in Project Management & Post Graduate Diploma in Industrial Safety and Environment Management.
2. Tallest Hostel Building: NITIE boasts a 16-floor mammoth skyscraper within its campus with the capacity of 378 spacious rooms, a mess hall & game room (at every floor). It’s the tallest hostel building amongst all government B-schools in our country.
3. A lake within the campus: Whaaaat! Yeah, you heard me. Our campus has its own, private lake which we call as ‘NITIE pond’. It’s a saying that one finds his/her soulmate while strolling around the lake, becoming one with nature, leaving the tension of the whole day behind. Its adjacent to our hostel building and we wake up, every day, to this scenic view, glaring at us from our tinted windows, pulling us towards its mesmerizing beauty that can only be well explained when seeing with our own eyes. Well, I became a bit poetic, but it can't be helped.
4. Sitting in nature’s lap: NITIE is surrounded by Vihar lake at one side, Powai lake at other side and Sanjay Gandhi National Park at its back. We are situated in the purest place to breathe in Mumbai. And adding more, our campus is built on a hilly terrain and a major amount of our campus land is covered with forest. And we already talked about our lake, didn’t we? All this make us feel like we are living in a resort.
Well, ‘What makes my campus UNIQUE?’, you made me write it!
