With a vision to sensitize budding managers with environmental concerns, The Environment Club of IIM Trichy (enviro club) has been established to focus on three major areas - sustainability, energy efficiency and renewable energy. The Club is involved in a variety of programmes aimed at creating awareness in the above areas. Members of this club contribute by providing creative ideas on how to initiate and organize these programmes in line with the objectives as well as by participating in environmental activities such as planting trees. The club also extends its help to people with an inclination towards the renewable energy sector.
Last year it started with the debut event “Convergence of ideas” where students from the first and second year presented their views on various topics related to the environment. It also conducted a pan India event - “Enviro-quiz followed by an article writing competition” event in accordance with our institute’s flagship event Arcturus 4.0. We plan to conduct many more such events in future which will enlighten our students about environmental concerns and also focus on participating in preserving our mother earth.
