Nakul: Best 50 | India's Most Promising Incoming MBA Students 2025 | XLRI Delhi-NCR

Nakul Bam is pursuing an MBA at XLRI Delhi-NCR after building an engineering foundation and gaining 18 months of experience in fintech. He brings an analytical approach to business problems, along with experience in event leadership, community work, and a student e-commerce venture.

One achievement that shaped him was leading an eight-member team to organise his college's annual tech fest. The event drew more than 2,000 participants from over 50 colleges. With COVID-19 restrictions and a tight budget to manage, the team created a virtual-hybrid format, secured Rs 5 lakh in sponsorships, and delivered 15 competitions and three keynote sessions. The experience gave him a practical lesson in stakeholder coordination and calm problem-solving when plans change.

As a Business Analyst at a fintech startup, Nakul analysed user behaviour, researched markets for new launches, and worked with development teams to improve the product experience. His recommendations contributed to a 20% increase in user retention and a 15% improvement in conversion rates. He also developed a small e-commerce venture during college, generating Rs 2 lakh in revenue over six months.

Nakul's profile combines technical skills with business exposure. He uses Python, SQL, Tableau, Power BI, and Excel, and has worked with technical teams as well as business stakeholders. Alongside this, he has led cross-functional student teams, completed more than 200 hours of community service, and supported educational initiatives for underprivileged children in rural areas.

He is developing deeper data-analytics capability, especially in Python and advanced Excel. Through courses, personal projects, and case studies, he is practising how to turn market and consumer data into useful business insight. He has already applied this approach during an internship, where his analysis improved process efficiency by 15%.

At XLRI Delhi-NCR, Nakul remains involved with the Analytics Club and has started a peer-learning programme for technical skills. His academic work, fintech experience, and early ventures point to someone comfortable learning across business and technology while taking responsibility for the details of execution.
