Priyansh: Best 50 | India's Most Promising Incoming MBA Students 2025 | XLRI Jamshedpur

Priyansh is an MBA student at XLRI Jamshedpur, specialising in Human Resource Management, with 32 months of diverse professional experience across exports and EdTech. At Foodsy Exports, he generated over 11 crore in revenue, expanded operations into global markets like Dubai and the USA and optimised sales processes to increase repeat orders by 16%. Transitioning to InsideIIM, he spearheaded user acquisition campaigns, cultivated a community of 100,000+ MBA aspirants and led a 150-member intern team, achieving 1M+ LinkedIn impressions and scaling the aspirant test-taking platform to 500+ tests. Beyond work, Priyansh has been selected as 1/5 Jr. Executives for XLRI's NHRDN Chapter, linking the institute to 40+ city chapters and 10,000+ HR professionals. His extracurriculars range from social impact projects, mentoring underprivileged children, leading NSS camps, dramatics, content creation, to his campaigns earning 4M+ views and recognition from Namita Thapar and Malaika Arora.

His 1st CAT attempt was in 2022. He gave it his everything, ten months of preparation while working full-time, sacrificing his social life and studying late into the night. When the results came, he had tanked badly, scoring only 17 percentile. Given the effort, the score was heartbreaking, especially when his friends who prepared less did better. This gave him a reality check about his approach to studying. So he reflected, spoke to mentors, refined his approach and tried again. The next year, he scored 99+ percentile. More than the result, this journey taught him that if he gives 100% to something, the only one who can stop him is him.

Foodsy Exports is an SME exporting basmati rice to the Middle East/USA; InsideIIM is a career/edtech platform for MBA aspirants. At Foodsy (Relationship Manager), he owned end-to-end lead management and social media marketing, expanding accounts via Gulfood/Indus Food and navigating export curbs and the Red Sea disruption. Resulting in 11 Cr+ revenue across FY23 & FY24, 16% higher repeat orders, ~4% YoY turnover growth. At InsideIIM (User Acquisition), he led a 150+ intern/ambassador engine, collaborated with tech to revamp the test platform, scaled to ~500 mocks with ~95k attempts, grew a 100k+ community, and delivered ~1M LinkedIn impressions, plus 2,300+ HUL Foundation School registrations.

He stands out for grit, discipline and how he treats people. After his dads job loss, he started a retail venture; later, he went from 17 to 99+ in CAT. At Foodsy, he lifted revenue while navigating government restrictions and the Red Sea disruption. At InsideIIM, he led 150+ interns, grew a 100k+ community and partnered with tech to scale and revamp the platform. His campaigns crossed 4M views and 1M impressions. He mentors under-resourced students, mobilise NSS volunteers and create space for quieter voices. As NHRDN Jr. Exec, he connects XLRI to industry. He ships, mobilise and use data.

He is a builder who executes under pressure and brings people along. He ran a shop from scratch in the pandemic, so he knows ownership. At Foodsy, he grew revenue and clientele alongside navigating government export curbs and the Red Sea disruption, via segmentation, tighter follow-ups and higher repeat orders. At InsideIIM, he led interns and an aspirant community; coming from a non-tech background, he learned tech using AI tools to give inputs to the tech team to revamp the test-taking platform; he personally experimented with social media, which led to campaigns hitting Millions of impressions and recognition from distinguished public figures. He combines data-led decisions with clear communication and an empathy-first style using mentoring and reverse mentoring, creating space for quieter voices.

He is building depth in Human Resource Management. His past work was in non-HR, but now he wants a strong HR core. So, to achieve the same, he is focusing heavily on FHRM, Industrial Relations, Labor Law and HR Planning, and he complements the learnings through readings and real-world cases. He applies ideas in class projects and plan to leverage the same in NHRDN events. He is building a repository of a simple HR playbook of tools to use later. His aim is to move from he has read this in theory to how he can use this in real-world situations.

He brings a people-first lens shaped by language and cinema. He didn't grow up speaking English daily, so he is training for clear, concise speech via group presentations, doing active class participation, recording answers and inviting blunt feedback, then blending it in. Cinema taught him to notice who isn't on the screen. Gauri Sawants journey deepened his understanding of LGBTQIA+ under-representation. That led him to NSS, literacy workshops and menstrual-hygiene work and to Nav Chetnas livelihood program for women. At XLRI, Qafila (a dramatics group) is the best of both worlds, pursuing cinema while practicing English through performance and building inclusive spaces.
