Life has been a roller coaster ride in its truest sense for each one of us. It has given us the crests, it has shown us the troughs so that even when soaring high, we remain connected to our rounds like the banyan tree which is deeply connected to its roots. However, we have all had experiences where we found stuck and could not move ahead until we showed immeasurable courage and willpower to move ahead of it.

I was in class fifth when my grandparents died. Being from an old school family closely woven by beliefs and faith in each other, I was very closely attached to my grandparents and their death created a void in my life, which wouldn’t be filled otherwise. This created a sense of under-confidence in me and I started to stammer and couldn’t speak in public gatherings.

People made fun of me and my parents had a hard time helping me keep up my morale. I had great love and care and my parents made every possible effort they could to inculcate in me the confidence I had missed. Their efforts had a major impact on my life, and I tried to speak in public forums where I was motivated to do well. My major achievement was when I won the debate competition in school and went on to be the runner up in the district.

When I returned with the medal and certificate, there was my mother standing on the door with tears in her eyes. Possibly, the only one time those tears didn’t hurt. It was the most challenging task I overcame- getting over the limitations one imposes on himself.

Bringing a Smile with ABG

Aditya Birla Group has been one of the leading conglomerates of the World and ranks among the Fortune500 companies across the world. Being based in India, there have been innumerable encounters with the brands of this age-old conglomerate, with its root as strong as the banyan tree in the Indian infrastructure. From being the fashion partner in Allen Solly to getting roofs on our heads with the UltraTech Cement, Aditya Birla Group has come a long way to touch lives of every Indian in a way or other, creating happy memories as they bloom along.

However, my happiest memory with the brand has not been very physical but was very satisfactory. Aditya Birla Group helps in CSR, developing India and helping in improving the country’s happiness index overall.

Last year, I went to my village after a very long time. The previous memory I had of my village was of a broken road with potholes and school which could not actually accommodate students as it wasn’t safe because of the broken infrastructure. I did not have high hopes when my father urged me to accompany him to the village.

When I moved, I was seemingly surprised, watching that the conditions of the village have drastically changed and for good. The roads had been repaired, increasing the connectivity and trade routes through the village thus helping it to become more connected. The fresh change that was brought around was the change in the school. It had been repaired, and students were attending classes on time. On further informing, I got the information that it was Aditya Birla Groups activists who had come to the village and created the awareness amongst the parents. They also provided students with their basic needs.

This time, while returning from my village, I did not blame my father for bad experiences like last times. It was in fact, an enriching experience this time, bringing about smiles on everyone faces, and that made my day.
