Every student has different and unforgettable memories about college life. The two last years of education are essential and etched in people’s minds for many reasons-friends, classes, but most importantly their campus. Any college campus, big or small, has always been of paramount importance in shaping any student’s college experience. Here at SIBM Pune, I consider myself extremely lucky to have been bestowed with one of the most picturesque campuses in the country. Nestled among the lush green hills at Lavale, our little haven is tucked away from the world and for students living here, it is our own slice of paradise.
The SIBM Pune campus is a different universe in itself in several ways. Apart from being breathtakingly beautiful with a “picture-worthy” view from almost every college and hostel room, the student culture at this campus is unlike any other. SIBM Pune is a highly student-driven college with the nine student committees at the helm for most of the major activities happening in college. Every student here is encouraged to think and act for themselves with individual creative thinking given strong emphasis.
Having been selected for a student council, I now realise that the responsibility handed over to the students’ council makes them capable of thinking on their feet and developing essential critical thinking and problem-solving skills. It is also a lesson in multitasking as we juggle academics with all our ongoing council events as well as extracurricular and sporting events carried out on campus.
Apart from the student councils, SIBM has a unique and vibrant blend of cultures and talents. Other qualities along with academic prowess are encouraged in this campus, making it a mélange of highly talented individuals. The students here are also from a varying range of states across India and other countries. SIBM Pune is a cultural melting pot and a mixture of many talents and quirks. If the students were to be described as colours, we would make a bright rainbow with every colour having its own million shades and nuances.
What makes my campus unique is the students living here-none of us would be in SIBM Pune if we did not have a certain uniqueness within us which has gotten the perfect environment to manifest itself in the most productive way possible.
Which ABG company will I like to work for and why?
The ABG company that I would want to work for is Idea Cellular. One of the reasons for this is that I have myself been a customer of this network for some years and have become a loyal advocate of the efficiency of the network. I would certainly like to be a part of such a well-functioning company and work towards its betterment.
The other reason Idea Cellular, in particular, attracts me as a workplace is the reach it has countrywide. To work for such a hugely spread company would be a very important learning lesson for me personally.
The third most important reason would be the attention given by Idea Cellular to CSR, which is also an important aspect for me, especially with the initiatives taken by Idea into the education of underprivileged children with initiatives such as KHEL or Angrezi Seekho.
