Aditya Birla Group is synonymous to integrity, quality, performance, perfection and character. The value attached with the logo and the brand name of Aditya Birla Group is unquantifiable. Coming from a Civil Engineering background and doing internships as a Site Civil Engineer for some major construction projects, cement is always an important element for any construction. I have observed UltaTech Cement as undoubtedly the most trusted brand by major Construction groups in our country. Aditya Birla Capital has helped so many other businesses to grow while keeping the faith of the people which is necessary for a financial institution. Brands of Aditya Birla Fashion Retail such as Louis Phillipe, Van Heusen, etc. are still one of the most popular brands when it comes to formal wear. But apart from all the products and services that Aditya Birla Group has provided to us, what sets it apart is the people who have been running the company. My father being an entrepreneur told me of how Mr. Aditya Vikram Birla changed the scope of their home grown business and diversified it to achieve greater heights. Mr. Kumar Mangalam Birla is also a role model to most of us business aspirants. With my ambition of becoming an entrepreneur in future and joining my family business, I always see these business leaders as my role model.
The road to achieve the ambitions always has certain challenges in its way which must be overcome without losing the focus from the ambition. My ambition is to become an entrepreneur like my father who started our family business in real estate more than 25 years ago. Despite it being an SME, my ambition is to gain the necessary knowledge and experience to one day be able to take my family business to reach further heights. In 2014, I took the first step to achieving my ambition by moving to Chennai from Delhi for pursuing my degree in Civil Engineering. While the journey to achieve any ambition is long, the challenges faced during the journey make sure that there are no shortcuts to achieve what you aim for. While I faced certain challenges in life moving far away from home for the first time, the real estate sector too took a downfall during the same period creating certain challenges for the businesses in the sector. But with every downfall in an industry, it always opens new opportunities too for businesses. While I was completing my Civil Engineering, I decided to prepare for CAT as well to get admission at a reputed institution for MBA. The challenge was to study for CAT while not compromising with my engineering. I was able to overcome these challenges to get into a reputed B-school which was my second step to achieve my ambition. Along with my MBA, I also try to help our family business which has certainly undergone various changes with the change in government policies. The current challenge is to gain as much knowledge and experience as I can from my MBA and also be able to apply that in my family business or my future corporate recruiter to achieve the most out of my hard work.
