Aditya Birla group is one of the largest conglomerates in India with revenue of more than US$40 billion. The principle of sustainable economic development is always on the business radar. The group aims to be a premium global conglomerate with a clear focus on each of its businesses. It delivers superior value to its customers, shareholders, employees and society at large.
Aditya Birla group came up with an idea that created history in the field of communication. Idea provides the best service to millions of customers with the exceptional network coverage. Since my school days, I am a regular customer of Idea Cellular. I have experienced tremendous improvements in its services especially in its internet connection after Jio entered, thus showing that ABG expects to be the best in each and every field it diversifies into. It’s merger with Vodafone, as many thought would hinder its services is not the case, in fact by merging, the signal strength and mobile data network has broadened providing greater satisfaction to its customers.
Aditya Birla group came in my life by daily brands like Louis Philippe, Peter England, Van Heusen, and the American brand like Forever 21. Pantaloons is also another brand which has touched and moulded, not just my fashion statement, but also my family’s and friend’s alike.
Talking about the employment opportunities, Aditya Birla Group is present in every industry and thus offers an abundance of opportunities in all the fields be it finance, marketing, operations etc. Thus, it’s an employment hub for me personally being an MBA student.
Aditya Birla group has made an incredible impact on my life. My standard of living is dependent on their services and they have ensured that standard is high and maintained throughout. Customer lifetime value is what the group aims to capture and by providing good quality and affordable services in all the sectors, Aditya Birla group has earned the same from me.
Being an introvert who has preferred to be low key and go under the radar instead of stealing the spotlight, I have always had issues in expressing myself be it via public speaking or writing or any other form of communication with the public at large. While so far in my life I was able to evade this, in my MBA life this vulnerability was caught by all my lecturers and required me to take steps to overcome it. Some of them are as follows:
- Mirror speech sessions: I started to speak in front of the mirror for hours to improve on my public speaking skills especially during presentations. I started off with 10 minutes and struggled initially but gradually it came to 30 minutes and now I’m at a stage where I am confident about speaking to an audience without having goose bumps about it instead, I find it as an opportunity and its one of the activities that catches my interest now
- Novels and TV shows: In order to improve my vocabulary, I started reading novels and watching shows both British originated so that my communication skills and vocabulary is enhanced. Starting by learning 5 words each I gradually moved to 10 words a day and have always tried to be consistent with this practice
- Writing short articles: I started writing short articles about general topics and myself in order to express myself better and improve on my writing skills.
These 3 steps have done wonders to me personally and professionally as I feel more confident while communicating in any form. Also, it has helped me venture new interest and new hobbies that will help me both personally and professionally.
