Mr Ramkumar Ramamoorthy (Pro-Vice-Chancellor Professional Learning) : Ramkumar Ramamoorthy, former Chairman and Managing Director (CMD) of Cognizant, India, is the pro-vice-chancellor of Professional learning at IFMR GSB. During his 22 years with Cognizant, he incubated, nurtured and grew more than half a dozen portfolios and held various leadership positions in the company including Executive Director and Chief Knowledge Officer.
Ramkumar spent the first six years of his professional career as an academician and continued to stay in touch with the academia throughout his long career in the industry.
In the past three decades, he has been on the Academic Council and Senate of various liberal arts, engineering, management and medical universities in India. Ramkumar also supports the Chennai Mathematical Institute, one of the premier institutions of excellence for teaching and research in math, computer science and data science.
Ramkumar has played an active role in several professional and trade bodies in India, including the 185-year old Madras Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MCCI), American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM), Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Associated Chambers of Commerce in India (ASSOCHAM), US-India Business Council (USIBC) and US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF).
