The job market has been quite uncertain in the last five years. Due to global uncertainties, jobs and salaries dipped during COVID-19 and the previous year. One of the top priorities of a B-school and MBA aspirant is getting a good placement at the end of the two years. In today’s article, we have analyzed the 5-year placement scenario at IIM-Lucknow, one of the top management institutions in the country and an old-generation IIM. The data highlighted includes both PGP and PGP-ABM batches as mentioned in the placement reports of IIM-L. Median and Average Salary Figures

Like most management institutions, IIM-L’s graduates' salary figures have dipped in the last year. The median CTC of IIM-L fell by 10% and the average salary fell by 7.6%.
The increase has been minimal in 2020 but post-COVID, both the salary metrics rose by 25 % approximately in the 2 years (2021-23)

Conversely, in the last year, the salary figures for the Top 10% i.e., of around 60 students have received an average salary of 55 lakhs per annum an increase of 11.5% from 2023 and a 7% increase from 2022. The top 50% earns approximately 7 lakhs more than the rest. The highest domestic package has almost doubled in the last 2 years despite the declining average and median salaries for the batches of 2021-23 and 2022-24.

Which sector is paying the most to the students of IIM-Lucknow?

Seeing the trend the highest domestic salary is usually offered in the IT & Analytics role. The highest domestic salaries were in the following domains for the last 4 years::

2024- Product & Analytics
2023- Sales & Marketing
2022- IT & Analytics
2021- IT & Analytics

Looking at the 4-year salary data, students having job roles in Finance, Consulting, and IT are paid more than the rest domains. In 3 out of the 4 years General Management companies have offered the least CTC to the recruiting students ( on average )

Job Offers and Number of Recruiters Vs Batch Size

The number of recruiters has increased from 2022 by 33.33%. Over the last two years, the number of companies visiting the campus has stayed over 200. The number of offers made to the students of IIM-Lucknow has exceeded the batch size by a good margin except for the COVID-19 years.
